It was a great series but had its drawbacks. I think what the mistake came when they started cherry picking who was immune to the virus. By itself it is not a bad idea like having Slade immune. However the problem then comes in when you say 'Slade is immune but some how Mister Mxyzptlk is not' That is where they messed up. Having such a battle with The Specter Vs Myx is great and being The Specter could actually get infected because he has a Human host would make perfect sense. You could even say Myx was not immune being we are dealing with the Anti-Life Equation corrupted by the spirit of Death itself. But having Slade and others immune then backfires because it never explains how some are immune yet a 5th Dimensional Imp with reality warping abilities is not immune. Had they just removed the entire immunity line then this comic would have been 100% a work of pure perfection. So I give it a B+. I found it much better than Marvel Zombies and I loved how the stakes kept getting higher and things kept getting worse. Killing off Batman was also a brilliant move because it let he reader know 'Yea we are not messing around here. You could be reading how this Multiverse world ends'. I just wish they had left out the immunity part of this story. It made no sense it went no where and it ment nothing. Showing people immune had no purpose at all being in this story.

That's the problem with all these kinds of stories. The stakes have to keep getting higher and higher until it reaches silly levels and goes out the window. The first half of this story is good enough, but then they had to keep going and take it too far and give it a really crappy ending like most stories. Some big bad you didn't know about shows up and gets defeated by the power of friendship or some also uknown mcguffin.

Seeing even though they had powers as zombies most was STILL his either undead evil versions of themselves or undead versions of characters that were evil or just bad anyways. 2:35, I've often theorized that the DC Universe takes place AFTER the Marvel Universe. 1. There's no Thor 2. There's no talk of "Ragnarok" 3. Every Hero and Villain are more powerful than their Marvel counterpart 4. "New Gods" replaced the "Old Gods" 5. The 'Source Wall' . I suspect that is where Ragnarok concluded. 6. I suspect "The Spectre" is the single entity that survived the destruction of the Marvel Universe like Galactus survived the death of the one before the Marvel universe.

This soul was a Spectre of the Old Universe and it's energy wasn't stable. The Presence stabilized it but realized it needed a Host or it'd die. Made a deal with it, you be my Hand of Vengeance and I'll ensure you have a Host in this New Universe. Just a theory and that's all it is :)

I'm not sure who the Adam Warlock variant in DC is but I'm certain someone would tell me he'd beat the hell outta Warlock. My favourite DC character is John Constantine, my favourite Marvel character is Ghost Rider (Danny Ketch). I haven't read either in years so my opinion is VERY outdated, and I'm quite willing to admit it.
