Much love to this band’s rhythm section - Nick and Jason are beasts!

Loving how the new album is sounding already! The sound and vibes are very nostalgic, I can't explain it. Been a huge fan since Plans was released in 2005 till today. Going strong and looking forward to more music from you guys.

This is the type of content I wished bands would produce. I'd give anything to just shoot B-Roll of the behind the scenes for bands like they do for movies.

This song is definitely a tribute to Elliott Smith.
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
Maybe because of the title but the lyrics and general sound of the song don't seem to have any relation or influence from him
@JonathanLit2 жыл бұрын
@@turbotaquitogoogle8095 He says "from a window on the hill". Elliott Smith had an album called "From a Basement on a Hill"
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
@@JonathanLit Hmm, must've missed that. I suppose Elliott did influence just about every single indie rock band so that doesn't seem to be much of a stretch

Death Cab is starting to sound like an imitation of itself. I don't think it's the same without Walla.
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
I agree. Walla really made their sound special. Ben's songwriting was the best part of death cab back in the facts/trans/plans era, but it's also gotten a lot weaker with each new release. I liked a lot of the Blue EP and hope they can integrate some of those sounds into this new album, but this song truly is lacking a lot of the things that made the band great
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
@@EwTZ2xpQwpA I agree. At the very least, it's a weak lead single. I suppose Gold Rush was also a terrible single that wasn't really representative of TYFT, but that album was also fairly boring and uninspired. Not gonna get hopes up for this new record but hoping we'll be proven wrong
@fagittarius5552 жыл бұрын
Quit with the vocal processing please
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
Peach. Ben's voice is really wonderful because it's really raw and feels somehow unique yet everyman, if that makes any sense. The filters and processing take away from the vulnerability that we all love about their early work
@fagittarius5552 жыл бұрын
@@turbotaquitogoogle8095 foreal! I wish he’d stop. I think his voice is wonderful. I feel like hes trying to hide behind the filters, but its like why? He has a beautiful voice and its aged great!
@turbotaquitogoogle80952 жыл бұрын
@@fagittarius555 Agreed! Saw them in concert a few months ago and his voice is just as great as it's always been. It's a bummer how much they've changed stylistically, especially considering a lot of the changes have been negative
