Caitriona is just one of the most talented hardworking warm classy fully realized sophisticated adults in film and TV; providing such a brilliant and even halting contrast to the alien corporate plasticity of current American entertainment. What a breath of fresh air she is. She brings out so much in her scene partners, and to their credit they openly say so. Glad to see someone like her making it big.

That is my story as well. That morning when I climbed into that taxi my heart broke, I sobbed the whole way to Canada and I never stopped crying for ten years. Then you have the death off your parents that is even harder. I love Belfast it will always be my home. Well done all of us for coming out the other side it was not a good time for out country. If it was to happen now their would be an outcry, but no one cared about N.I. So many Boys their lives ruined so many family’s missing their own at the dinner table, we could all write books. I’m glad Ken done the film. Thank you

This is one of the best panel discussions of any casts that I’ve ever watched. I appreciate production notes & this helped fill that curiosity. The actors, the questions, the revelations seemed to be so honest and warm and contemplative. Well done! Thank you.

This has been posted elsewhere, but.....in 1972 the French navy seized a shipment to the IRA from Qaddaffi which consisted of 30 SAM missiles, dozens of heavy machine guns, and 3,000,000 rounds of heavy ammo. The shipment was destined for Belfast Harbour. The British Government later estimated a 30% destruction of the city in the IRA's planned confrontation with British forces, had the shipment arrived safely. Troops were bring brought in from Europe, the Middle East, and England. This would have been a much scaled-up event from what the film depicts in 1969.

He moved from Belfast to England when he was young - just like "Buddy" did with his family in the film. Belfast is a semi-autobiographical movie of Kenneth Branagh's life as a young boy.

"He wouldn't even lie in the coffin." 😂🤣😂 Who is Benny? Did the Montreal questioner (39:45) even see this film? Also, at about 52:00, Kenneth Branagh misspoke upon assigning the harp to Paddy Moloney, referencing "Carrickfergus" with Van Morrison & the Chieftains. It was Derek Bell who played harp for the Chieftains. Paddy, who had passed just a month prior to the taping of this LA press conference, primarily played the Uilleann Pipes, or elbow pipes. At a Chieftains concert I attended in the early 1990s, Paddy said, "We gave the ones you have to blow into to the Scots!". 😝

Dakota war am Set mit und fand Everlasting Love nicht angebracht! Jamie kniete vor Balfe! Der Song ist ein Super Song for love! Dakota steht dabei und guckt zu! No!

Totally overrated film...its just a nice little film..nothing more nothing less but lacks a real grittiness and sense of realism that I think a film like this needs..but then it is told from a child's perspective and it is little idealised and rosy coloured in my eyes. One thing is I'm sure Kennth Branagh's parents would never have been as good looking as the couple who played them..but hey..we can dream on
