Unfortunately no major upgrade. I have the Gopro 9, I didn't see any significant differences to buy the Gopro 11. I was expecting to see a 1'' sensor (for better low light handling and better depth of field) but sadly disappointing. In low light, in the afternoon, its reception is unacceptable.. even the quality of the phones is not enough.. I will also see with the new Dji 3 and compare it

I love the Hero 10, but I ordered the Action 3, much more compelling for my use. I mostly use action cams in the ocean, when I go spearfishing. Max depth of my spots is 10m, average of 6-8m. The Hero 10 never had a problem without the dive case (the case makes the image softer). The Action 3, with a deeper rating, gives me more confidence, I can take it to the occasional 15m deep reef without a case. Also, the 2-hour battery life is a nice upgrade. Anyway, even if I have spare batteries, I can not change them when the camera is in the ocean or not rinsed and dried. The DJI Osmo Action 3 has a better price. I prefer the GoPro flat colors, but in the end, the DJI has usability improvements. Now I use the Action 2 mounted on my speargun, as it is very light. But battery life is not great, and the field of view is very wide and shows distortion at the edges. But with any of these cameras, you can get great footage. I actually I like the still photos I get from the Hero 10, raw files that I can edit in Adobe Lightroom. Hero 10 also improved the write speed of the burst mode still photos. I pre-ordered the Action 3 but will skip the Hero 11.

@@adriant.7457 The Action 3 was backordered. So i actually got the Hero 11. Quality is very good. The Hero 10 sd card slot failed after warranty was over by a month or 2, GoPro still replaced it at no charge. That impressed me. The DJI osmo action 3 order was cancelled after waiting for too long. The focus issue and the lack of transparency by DJI about it are worrisome. I still like the DJI usability, menu system, i may get it in the future. I have used Action 2 in the water, but the battery life and internal memory are very limited and limiting. Actually in 11 degree water, 52F i believe, it stopped working with a message about low temperature. The GoPro had no issue with the same temperature. Overall GoPro takes also very good stills with very good resolution and dynamic range. The DJI has better usability, menus and supposed water resistance. But I trust more GoPro's claims. A single battery, SD, usb port/door is better for water resistance than 2 separate doors, like the OA3. GoPro image quality seems generally better

My GoPro10 would overheat 10mins into a POV drive in 4k/60 and it always bummed me out haha Did a poll in my community section and 82% of people said they watch KZbin in 1080p, or the auto-resolution their phone sets based on connectivity (720p-1080p). MOST videos you must choose to watch in 4k to view it in 4k. What i'm looking forward too is the night vision, and if it's improved at all! Great video DC!
@R0T0Q2 жыл бұрын
The problem is that shooting in 4k is preferable even if your end product is 1080p, as it gives you the ability to crop shots and maintain 1080p quality

I was rather let down by the Go Pro 10 due to its overheating. I used the go pro to record in an aeroplane cockpit with an over the shoulder view. (You can see an example of the set up on my channel, look for this video “Unexpected Mig-15 encounter in the UK” I used a GoPro media mod to get the audio from the in aeroplane communications onto the GoPro recordings using the 3.5mm jack. I removed the internal battery and powered it with an external power bank. The settings I used were 4k 30fps with the 2nd lowest setting for stabilisation. The Go Pro would still overheat around 40-45 minutes after it started recording. I’m now looking to 3d print a fan mount for the GoPro. The Go Pro 10 can record some amazing footage but oh boy has it been not reliable.

For me the 10 bit colour is a game changer. Shooting in a Flat colour profile gives you more dynamic range and 10 bit colour means you have less issues with colour banding when grading. This also makes it easier mix the footage with stuff shot on professional cameras, without it looking out of place.

I have a hero 5 which is my first ever gopro and to date ive not had any issues. Ive been looking at all these YT videos concerning problems with gopros trying to figure out which model to upgrade to (i wanna shoot in higher res at better FPS) and it seems they all have problems. I turn off stuff like GPS and screensavers, i do not connect to any app, beep volume is low, LED is off, auto off is turned off, I always format the card in camera before any session. This setup has served me well and ive never had any issues with it at all! I looked at the osmo action camera 3, it looked absolutely great till i found out it had major focus issues that were hardware based It seems that many GoPros had problems with the following; Overheating & freezing I use my hero 5 for mountain biking so im guessing that overheating wont be a problem also im not shooting in 4K i use 2-7K and the runs are not very long were talking minutes here i do use proper SD cards that are sanctioned by gopro expensive yes but does my hero 5 freeze up no! Im just wondering that all these issues could be sorted out using some common sense?

Ordered a Hero 10, it hasn't even arrived yet, but that didn't stop Gopro sending an advert for the 11 at the same price as the 10. Now the 10 has been reuced by £50. I am a KZbinr and a long time user of both GoPro and Osmo. I feel badly let down by GoPro, they knew the camera I was odering would be replaced by a newer model before it even arrived, that is no way to treat customers if they want to keep them. I have invited GoPro to do the right thing and refund the reduction or better still replace the 10 with an 11. If I don't get a good result, I will be returning it to make the switch to the Osmo 3. Thanks for the video, especially highlighting the diference between the 10 and the 11.

Just a note for those wondering about all the features of the HERO11 (and in most cases the 10 & 9), with Labs firmware your camera can do (and you can do to it) much more than it’s advertised on the box and what’s in the user manual. Most importantly, it’s actually very easy to use, especially with the QRControl mobile app (Android & iOS). With Labs firmware installed you not only get all the goodness of the latest general release firmware, you also get: 200 Mbps recording Motion detection recording Speed detection recording Audio decibel (noise) detection recording Global tone mapping On/Off Local tone mapping On/Off Global and Local tone mapping Max shutter angle control Exposure damping control Extra long (days) time lapse on one battery GPS time synchronization USB power trigger Burn in overlays Custom file naming 12GB file length chaptering GPS synced Sunrise/Sunset recording Time code support via LTC Auto generated Adobe style proxy files On screen histogram Burn in lap times Luma sweep Embed personal logo into video Control length of Hindsight timeout (instead of default 15 minutes) Increase digital gain of audio Clean monitoring without overlays Mute one or more channels of audio True 24.0 (Cinema) frame rate (instead of broadcast 23.976) Increased write frequency for higher precion file recoveries Alternative exposure controls ........ and more.

I'll give it a go, I didn't know that. I saw there was horizon lock on the linear mode, but it only works to a 45-degree turn of the camera; you can't turn the camera completely upside down and have it locked. Have you found a way to do that?
@user-co5cy4ei9t2 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisBranch Yes I spun my camera in a full circle and the image stayed locked with the horizon. You need a lot of light to make it look good, but all things considering it seems to be a good shot.
