It doesn't take very long. The way the A-10C is set up is really intuitive. I think the GiantBomb guys were playing it up a bit for the camera.

I've answered this a couple of times. Birdstrikes are modeled in such a fashion that it will give you a complete engine failure on one engine based on a setting in the mission editor when flying at low level. There are no birds drawn in the engine, so it's essentially a random failure instigated by low level flight.

Your head movements are magnified, so you probably only have to move your head about 10 degrees from the centre of the screen to look all the way behind you.

Call error message is script in speech where the link doesn't have a target to run. You can see the file path of the file and the line on which the error has occurred. The hard part is to find the command in the running script that refers to that particular line.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm using Thrustmaster Warthog with Saitek pedals and TrackIR. I think my monitor is 23"? Not sure, but it works great. We were using Skype for comms and a program called "FRAPS" to record the video and audio. Pointing a camera at the screen won't capture the image very well. I'm working on a few missions to record which should come along in the next week or two.

Indeed it was. There's an option in the sim to turn the probability of a bird strike up or down if you are below a certain altitude. Rob, in his infinite wisdom, set the percentage to 5000% or something ridiculous.

No. The DCS series (Digital Combat Series) are sims devoted to simulating ONE aircraft, but simulating it to an insane detail. The helicopter sim Blackshark has every switch that works, including circuit breakers. It takes like 27 steps just to get the engines started.

FC3 is Flaming Cliffs 3 - A mod for DCS which admits many more aircrafts that offer an easier learning curve and quantity over quality. Meaning instead of one finely detailed aircraft, you have 20 easier to learn aircrafts without such an ample learning curve.

It would take 2-3 minutes of scripting in the mission editor to set up a crash response crew, but it's not included in the software out of the box.

This is normal. The HUD is offset to indicate the wind pushing the aircraft and the HUD is centered on where the aircraft is tracking. Try a mission with no wind and the HUD will appear in the centre of the plate.

I use the T-IR 5 and upgraded from the basic to the pro clip because I was encountering interference from bright sunlight coming in through a window behind my PC and goofing up the T-IR signal. The pro clip allows the camera to lower its gain and thus become less sensitive to interference and also gives you a somewhat wider range of useful motion.

They're just training rounds. You can set them up in the load out screen in the mission editor, or use ( Left-Alt + ' ) in game to add them to your payload.

I don't notice an FPS drop when playing multiplayer. The lag can get pretty rough if there's more than 8-10 guys flying around in the same area though.
