Man, they didnt teach this in the training missions. I understand they are to be crash courses and to get you in the air and capable as soon as possible. But these tutorials are something you need I think, if you want to be more than just capable on the battlefield. I have been looking for tutorials like this for a while to help me further understand this complex weapon. I bet hes even more kick ass to watch in combat. I will watch that next. You got a like, a fav, and a sub Thanks for videos

Even after more than 10 years still a very useful video, thank you. Btw. I love your guinea pigs avatar - hope they are doing well and safe. Or their children /grandchildren. A big fan of guinea pigs here ;-).

I never got my hands on the manual I bought the Sim online. So these are extremely helpful.

Hey, nice tutorial. HSI and course had always been a "mistery" for me. And it also made me have more respect for ED for putting this kind of detail in the game. Amazing!

I guess the reason the TO-TO mode is default, is because it requires less manual intervention, and although the CI should be tuned, its position is not critical for the deviation indicator. In fact generally you would not have to worry too much about the CDI during a fligh plan, if your TAD is functional.

@unboxism go to mission editor, and put your self on the runway end, and check the compass. you'll find its between 120/121. Cheers.

hey Gerry Abbott, i'm new to sims, but I have a question, inst it easier to fly by using the TAD, in MCFD to navigate?

I was wondering the same as user szerszen22: "21:10 Why CDU->Nav->ATRRIB tells that CDU provides TO FROM steer mode when You are in fact in TO TO mode, which can be confirmed by watching CDI fixed behaviour while fully spinning Course Knob?" Could someone please answer this? Your tutorials are very helpful, much appreciated!

First of all gr8 tutorial!!!!! But a small question plz, why would some1 use the to-to mode? I do believe that the to-from is much better than the to-to, so i dnt c the case where the to-to mode is useful, thnx!!!

Yes Davi, but not every aircraft has the luxury of a TAD, Many more will have a HSI with CDI. Also if the mfcd is damaged you may need to fall back to HSI to get home. If you're a beginner, don't worry about more advanced stuff. Get in an fly. If you get hooked, you'll wanna learn all the instruments. And the CDI is much more accurate depiction of you course than the TAD zoomed all the way out.
