Not really in aerodynamic trim but in NOE flight nose to trail trim is considered professional. As your tail is exactly behind you and you're less prone to swat trees with it. You can verify nose to trail trim in the transition mode where the velocity vector should be straight up. Which it is when you mention the aerodynamic trim.
@jubuttib3 жыл бұрын
Is it in relation to ground vector or air? If it's like the ball in most planes, I could easily imagine a situation where you're aerodynamically co-ordinated but crabbing along the ground due to wind. The Mi-24P thankfully has both the ball and a doppler drift angle readout, so you can prioritize either, or co-ordinate them.
@ianvdhorst3 жыл бұрын
@@jubuttib Ball is aerodynamic trim. Nose to tail trim is making sure the tail is moving forward on the same line as the nose, respective to the ground. The latter is represented by a straight up velocity vector in the transition mode.

I think the idea is to tell you the helicopter's nose pitch relative to the actual the horizon line. The learner would use that in conjunction with the horizon to judge pitch for forward and rearward flight.
@ziljanvega38793 жыл бұрын
@@cloakedsniper5016 a great question. It can't be the "nose pitch" which is clearly pointing below the horizon while the pitch ladder is indicating the generic "pitch attitude" is pointing above the horizon.
