Outstanding! I'm so excited for this module. Some of my forum comments in the past, when this module was just a distant dream: Posted May 26, 2015 If ED ever makes a PFM/ASM of the AH-64D, I'll have to dig a slit trench in my office and buy a two year supply of beefaroni.. only to find next time I take a break that my wife has moved out and my dog is bonding with the neighbors. Posted July 7, 2015 AH-64.. I'd gnaw on my monitor and whine like a mutt. Posted February 20, 2018 Me if DCS:AH-64 ever happens: "I don't remember what day I lost my job, my house, my cars, or my wife. I don't even know if today is shower day. I can tell you the launch date of DCS: AH-64 Apache though. Ahh what a glorious day! Hey, does someone on your news crew have a sandwich or something? Yeah ok, I'll take off my VR goggles for a sandwich." Posted January 24, 2018 ..I think my vote would go to the AH-64 instead of the KA-52. The notion does put a fear in me though. I will, very likely, lose my job and my marriage if ED puts out an Apache module.

Me and the boy have to get out and salute these helicopters as they pass though, it's a rule. No one gave you leave to speak yet boy, just get out of the truck."

@@Mossyyyyyyy Well, oddly enough (and, this is too horrible to be fiction) the Apache Module, for which I've yearned for so long, dropped the day before my anniversary... you know, Date Night, followed by Quality Time Day and Bigger Date Night. Today is our anniversary and I haven't been able to fly yet. It has had an effect though; she keeps telling me that I seem distracted. I can't imagine why! Update on Apache launch on my 15th wedding anniversary: You know how I said truth was too horrible to be fiction? Well, wife and I were looking at wedding pictures on Amazon Photos on a big TV and this big ass and gash show up, bent over on the screen... one that isn't hers (which we knew immediately because she's a Lady... a good Christian one). I had never seen that butt and didn't know where the heck it came from. I thought maybe someone grabbed my phone and took a butt selfie ... but couldn't imagine how... and I don't know anyone that.. athletic. I come to find out that after my Army son had texted me a URL a few months ago saying he knew a girl on that site and she had messed him over (me and him had a much bigger discussion about making good decisions, and about how just because he's in the military doesn't mean he can treat me like a drinking buddy and send me bad links)... but anyway, I figure this out along with the fact that Amazon Photos backs up pics texted to your phone... and the file name put it alphabetically right next to my wedding photos... by some horrible apocalyptic fate. I explained this to my wife but she barely believes me so this whole thing was an enormous disaster. I've had PLENTY of time to fly Apache since then... while she thinks I'm sleeping on the couch! LOL! This is a true story. It would take Stephen King's dark imagination to make something like this up, right? F my life... but YAY the Apache is out!

Hey Matt, I have a question that has been bothering me recently. I have many friends that want to play with me and given what they play I think the'd have a lot of fun managing the systems of the Tomcat, looking down the sights of the hind or just firing away as a huey door gunner. Has Eagle Dynamics ever considered delivering a "passenger" version of a dlc at a reduced price for people that simply want to join their friends and have no desire to command an aircraft? If you have I'd be very interested in your thoughts and if you have not I'd be more than happy for you to at least consider this option. Thanks for all you do at ED and keep the wonderful work going! I completely agree. I think that some people would love to use their mouse and keyboard to control WSO, RIO, CPG stations. For instance, my son has no interest in flying, but he would like to look out for targets and shoot stuff up. Some people also don't want to invest in a HOTAS or head tracking setups. It would certainly open up the sim to a bigger audience and who knows, maybe even convert some of them into pilots who would later upgrade to the full module.

From my point of view, the AH-64D module would far exceed the A-10C warthog module in levels of implementation. It beats me on how features shown in this video and previous ones are coded. I am certain all other modules in my hangar would take a back seat for quite sometime for the AH-64D. This module is coming out really good. Thumps up to ED.

@Kathlanus
@Kathlanus 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertZiegler069 Wags stated himself that they jumped the gun with the F16 and it seems they learned their lesson from that. Not saying the Apache will be close to feature complete. As a matter of fact it's confirmed it'll lack at least one of it's major features at launch (which was stated from day one afaik). But I'm fairly sure a F16 level of EA launch won't happen again any time soon. Not saying you should start pre-order again. Just saying ED is capable of learning
@Antares2
@Antares2 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertZiegler069 Normally I agree that you should be careful with preordering anything. However, ED has proven to me more than enough times that they deliver excellent modules. Sure, the releases may have issues in the beginning (like all software), but they always become amazing over time. I'm never worried that they'll stop patching a module before it's done to the same high level as the others. The F-16s release is a dead horse that has been beaten enough. If you look at the Mosquito or Hind, they were in a much better state at initial release. And regardless, the F-16 module is becoming better and more complete all the time, so the release issues are nothing but a bad memory now. I think they've done more than enough to redeem themselves. At least they've done so in my eyes. I expect the AH-64 to have issues in the beginning, and there will certainly be some features that are yet to be implemented. But overall, I am not worried about the quality. Especially down the line once it has been thoroughly tested by all of us and patched.
@Antares2
@Antares2 2 жыл бұрын
@@AlbertZiegler069 That is obviously your prerogative. I'm not saying that people MUST trust ED and preorder anything. I'm simply saying that I do at this point. Hopefully, the Apache will be an amazing module that we can all enjoy, regardless if we preorder or wait a bit for it to come out.

It's quite frustrating to see the Apache gets pan, but the F-18C doesn't get SLEW. Not to mention the varied map modes. The features are functionally identical, and the Hornet's HSI page as displayed on the AMPCD in the Lot-20 model has very similar functionality to the TSD. It's disappointing to see this early access module getting features the years-old Hornet still doesn't have.

Matt, as with most DCS pilots I am extremely happy with the release of the new AH-64 Apache helicopter. However in my experience in fighting this early access release, I do have to question the flight characteristics in terms of SACS (Sability Actuation and Control Systems). As a 9 year US Army AH-1G (Moderized, ECAS, AHIS) mechanic and Technical Inspector, I don't understand why there is no control dampening stability effects modeled into this DCS AH-64's flight dynamics. I mean it essentially mirrors the same control dynamics as the UH-1 Huey which I know can't be an accurate depiction of the advanced AH-64's control systems. The hydraulic actuators that are installed within the yaw, pitch and roll controls systems should add much more flight stability and control. Thanks Gordon

The TSD is certainly the most "academic" element of the -64. But, it is well worth getting to know.

Anyone else wising ED would put Charly Owl on staff so his amazing Chucks Guides would be ready to go with module release? I am really hoping he can get one going for the Apache soon after launch. I have a feeling we will need his assistance in learning this birds systems. :)

Chuck already has said he wants to remain independent for various reasons. Hard to argue with that, but it does mean he gets nothing ahead of the rest of us.

Never thought I'd say this, but I like the Russian ABRIS better.... it just seems to have better readability. This has too much clutter.
