Sounds very promising and will be really interesting to follow this project while it progresses. One question out of many, will ATC stack inbound flights in holds while another one is in approach/overhead? Can't wait for more!

It boggles my mind as to why the DCS community and third parties can do better than ED with adding in features that players want. An official higher level of ATC has been sought after for some time. I guess we no longer need that.
@DCSHacks4 күн бұрын
Agreed - You need to remember that AI_atc is very niche. The average DCS player is never gonna use it. That being said we believe that there are enough people out there to justify the effort to make AI_atc becoming a reality! Is there any interest?

@ as far as it being “niche” depends on what circle of the community you fly in. Open multiplayer servers aren’t likely to use it. There is however us old veterans that like to go more realistic with DCS. A lot of people don’t realize how many closed private servers there are that have lots of prior military that don’t want to play with the public for one reason or another. Basically, the same folks that use CombatFlite would embrace AI ATC.

@@billcedarheath387 AI_atc is built with the invaluable assistance of 'Prior Military'. Real world procedures and the act of 'Flying correctly and professionally' in a multiplayer environment with like minded individuals is where this thing is gonna shine. Looks pretty cool. Given that this uses VA, do you have to say exactly the correct line to activate it? One of the issues I had with vaicom was that you had to memorise exact lines for different functionality - there was no fuzziness in it.

This looks faboo. Couple questions - 1. Is this just really clever scripting that needs to go into every mission or is it plug and play? For instance, will I need to spend 45 minutes adding tags and scripting to every aircraft on a mission/server for this to work? Does it work in MP? 2. At the end, it gives the parking as F135. How are they determining 135? Are they the spawn locations tagged for airport spawns? How does one know which parking spot is which?
@DCSHacks4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Avalanche our core Dev and I'm open to correction but Its completely modular. Just add the script and audio files to any .miz. Just in the NTTR and Nellis for now. Other Airbases like Anderson AFB, Or Incirlik are likely in the future. F135 is assigned and can be identified by a circle on the F10 map!

1). Plug and play. 2). Multiplayer. 3). It will give you directions to the parking space you started in. Or if you start the mission in the air it will give you a generic parking space. But if you ignore all the instructions and go park somewhere else it will update accordingly.

The phraseology doesn't sound right, im just a PPL but... Taxi with the numbers isnt a thing (never heard of it). But anyway when you call ground you go: you this is me, at location, with information (from ATIS), is ready to taxi for departure (direction of departure), or if you're on an IFR flight plan tell them your departure destination or mission. When you're holding short of a runway you still tell them that you're holding short of the runway and tower will never switch you over to departure while you're still on the runway just in case you or they need to abort or something major happens. The voice sounds a lot better and is definitely an improvement over standard DCS.
