As cool as that would be, I feel like ED doesn’t have the resources to make leaps towards new features like that while also continuing their work fixing spaghetti code and making sure modules don’t break when there is a update/patch. I want stuff to be complete when possible. Maybe I’m over thinking it, but I just don’t see that being a good use of hours/resources.

Honestly, the Typhoon is one oif my favorite but will most likely not get it. Why? Because it will not be a proper Typhoon, but a Tranche 1 A/A only version that will get some fantasy frankenstein A/G capabilities later in EA.

@@thelespauldude3283 Of course it will be "mutli-role" later. It will be a fantasy Tranche 1 version that gets A/G capabilities added. There has never been a Tranche 1 version that had A/G capabilities in RL. That´s my point, not if it will be possible to use A/G munitions at all.

The community created dynamic campaigns are all limited by AI and CPU. So we need to see some AI fixes and efficiency improvements before a dynamic campaign becomes a realistic possibility. And can run on a consumer-grade computer.

@@dcs-web-editor in the last update some AI calculations are moved to a different thread for helicopters. Which makes the AI react better to terrain elevation and shares the cpu load They are working on it.

It's a shame that ED has teams of 20-30 people that are working on different maps, but only 3 people that are working on dynamic campaign. While DCS Liberation has like 60 contributors.

The dynamic campaign must be facing many of the same challenges/issues Liberation has to deal with namely the AI being incapable of basic tasks let a lone multiple or complex ones. For example, when creating my own custom campaigns I won't use any airfield that doesn't have have full length parallel taxiways because the odds of traffic jams blockages. It's frustrating enough for a package not to do what you asked it to via the ME once airborne it's doubly frustrating when they can't even get from the hangar to the active 😂.

I did not really get into the Microsoft Flight Sim, but in my understanding there are no weapons. Is there something planned or are there popular mods which enable combat activtiy? Without that i do not understand why such a experienced and gifted company would be needed or be interested in creating an aircraft which whole purpose and a lot of its systems can not be accessed or used. Just curious.

I would love to see Heat Blur add the touch controller stick and throttle grip in their next update to both the F-14 and F-4. As a DCS pilot that lives on the road. I am unable to bring my HOTAS with me.

All I want is bombs to do proper splash damage and fragmentation to occur. Dumb bombs are so useless in DCS especially with the F-4E where you can’t always drop bombs right on the target.

My biggest concern about the DCSDC is how the briefing and pre-flight infos will be implemented. As now the briefings and what-to-do situations in SP is by far not enough to get an overview or an idea of what is coming in the mission. Hope they will improve that - otherwise the DC will be a failure imho.

Quite honestly I wish they would fix the current bugs before embarking on a Dynamic Campaign engine. The new Mulitplayer UI for selecting slots, for example, is totally broken leading to huge lag and impediments to joining a large multiplayer mission. General performance has suffered greatly in the last couple of patches as well..

The F16C and A are quite different beasts with some 40 years between them, so they wouldn’t really overlap. The A is a fighter loaded with Sparrows and a couple sidewinders for the dogfight The C is a multi-role fighter/bomber using high tech sensors and equipment to find and destroy targets both independently and as CAS, meanwhile it has a great self defence with the AMRAAM and X-rays (keep in mind the F15C and F22 are the modern ‘pure fighters’)

I am really confused...my DCS is unplayable since the last update, on discord I read, that some popular servers are offline or with reduced functionality because nothing works any more, and then I hear about lots of fancy new projects. It seems, we are living in different realities....I really hope I can make it to the airshow at LRBS, so I can at least see cool airplanes in 3D without massive stutter

Server issues are due to undocumented changes that came in the latest update. For example we already fixed the issue on our server, it took a few days to do that but all is well now. Meanwhile DCS being unplayable, cannot share the same experience as we are flying on a daily basis. You referring in VR or what are the issues you experience, making DCS unplayable?

@@hipgames VR with a pico 4 on one system, a q2 on the other. The stutter increased over the last few updates and is now massive. seems to be cpu related...I have an i9 12gen on on system, an i9 13gen on the other and disabled all unnecessary processes and disabld the e-cores. the gpu is a 3090 on one system, a 4070ti (i think) on th other...I think with these systems it shoud be possible to play it...and it was until recently...

Oh, that is not good! I am sorry to hear that. Indeed, it seems that VR is once again (and I say again because it's not the first time) broken in regards of performance. It leaves our VR only users trapped in using only a screen setup. But please be mindful that with VR things like this, even if they get fixed in the nearby future, problems may happen until we see more improvements in the core sim. I feel for you, I fly in VR too, but it seems that it's not the same for all.

@@hipgames hmmm i think i know what you mean but that is a path to hell... when introducing changes if you do not want to piss off major part of community you have to make sure that these changes will not break major mods as they did.... if you expect the mod authors to change and adapt.... ok but make sure to communicate these braking changes well ahead.... in software development we term this backwards compatibility and it is a thing, a real one :)

Backwards compatibility is a thing indeed, but I only know a few gaming companies doing it with modders...correct me if I am wrong ( I may just be) but companies like Bethesda do something similar to what you imply here, yet they have a modding support integrated in the game, while DCS is a bit of a different breed. I sure hope for the communities sake (not for ED's) these existing modders can fix their content with help from ED.

I'm sort of happy for Heatblur to have that MS $ coming in, but also sort of not as it drags resources away from their DCS products - you can't even shoot anything in MSFS, which is extremely gay, so I don't really get the hype over an F16 in MSFS.
