Some issue that I found on my first try: When using the mavs together with the TGP, the first mav lines perfectly up with the TGP. However, the second and third mav refused to point on the target (although I pressed TMS up like mad). Solution until ED delivers a fix: take the mav out of "PRE" mode, click yourself through VIS and BORE mode back to PRE mode, and it should work again.

Hey man that is great to hear that my channel has helped you out so much! The missiles you are referring to are actually fitted to AGM-114 Hellfire missiles which are much smaller than an AGM-65 and are used primarily by Helicopters and drones!

@11:17 - 'use missile step button to slew the mav head back to the velocity vector' - been having trouble with this, what is the key mapping & command for 'missile step'? I end up spending so long slewing the net missile back onto target I've already flown over the release zone.

It's the key used for nosewheel steering on the ground

Just a thought: It would be very helpful if you maybe go more into detail on the keybindings. For example you jump into the settings page or maybe only display the name of the binded button you just used would make it easier to follow you. Thanks for your work and all the videos! :)

Damn I came to try and learn what the terminologies mean such as soi and mfd and how to manipulate the displays but instead I just got more confused trying to understand what exactly you are doing and wtf soi means and why it's important and what the radar scan modes are and what types of radar scanning types are best for different scenarios 🙃👍

What stick/hotas do you have? If memory serves on my HOTAS Warthog stick, the expand FOV button is the little pinky switch on the back of the throttle, next to the paddle switch. Try searching for it in the control settings under "search".

When you press MSL STEP to center the seeker, aren't you actually selecting the next missile on the opposite wing? I thought it should be TMS DOWN to center the seeker.

I have a hard time to make the gyroscope ground stabilized. The only trick that works for me is to make theHUD SOI, then slew to the target and press TMS up. The gyro is then ground stabilized. Then SOI to the MFD>Weapon's page and then "fine" slewing to the target, hitting TMS up again to lock. Without this "workaround" I can't get any lock as the Mav camera is not "gimbaled" and moving around heavily. Do you have an idea why that is?

Just a minor thing: Incirlik is in Turkey. Italy doesn't use F-16s anymore; they stopped about 8 or so years ago. That one you're flying was an Italian F-16 though, it was returned to the US in 2010.

Mav on PRE mode + TGP spotting is awsome. Tomorrow have to lern make marks and then in couple seconds rip off all MAVs at 1 deadly pass. Same lke A-10C

I am able to follow all the instructions in the f16 maverick training mission but when I go to an online server and do everything the same I am unable to release the maverick. I am locking on within 7nm its successfully handing off from the pod to the missile. But the missile will never release for me. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated

For some reason te maverick D variant doesnt look the same on the screen like the ground isnt baclk but white and it looks different from what you have although i have the d varriant sellected and using.

With the ever more prevalent use of VBIED’s wouldn’t the agm 65 be a good choice and with IS recently being able to acquire old tanks isn’t the maverick designed to destroy armour?

So nice. I struggle to do a multiple launch like that on the Av8 as it starts to roll violently right away. Are both the Viper and Hornet this stable? Really looking forward top getting the Viper

The hornet is pretty stable, it'll definitely start to lean one direction after you fire the mav, but you can easily trim it out.

You can reduce the gain of the axes if you want an easier time slewing. I personally crank mine down to 50

are the Mavericks kinda hard to get to lock up IRL like it is in DCS? i find that most of the time my Maverick will end up aiming at a near by building Vs the tank i had under the cross hairs . maybe im doing something wrong ? but ive watched all the f16 atgm videos several times and i dont think im missing any steps. im loving my ATGM in my 16 really a lot of fun to learn tank you for helping me .

Depends on where the sun is, the time of day, and various other things, but yes AGM 65's (and the generation of IR tech this simulation is based on) are sensitive to these kinds of things. In fact, there are certain times during the day (usually morning and afternoon) when the AGM 65's infrared seeker is useless. It occurs during what is called the diurnal temperature cycle and basically means that the ambient temp is the same the ground and surrounding objects. It almost always occurs during sunrise and sundown. Essentially, your IR will look totally washed out. Lt. Col Dan "Two Dogs" Hampton, the F-16 Wild Weasel pilot with the most confirmed kills, talks about this issue during a situation in he was involved in causing him to have to gun run a truck and armor column that had friendly troops pinned down. That book is amazing btw. It's called "Viper Pilot". Im having so much trouble with this, the square box with the dot in it, is just static on my screen it never get ground stabalized , i cant figure out what im doin wrong, looked at your vid 2000 times now =/ When i press TMS UP , the box should be ground stabalized , it doesent even follow when i slew the mavic , its just static =/ any ideas ? driving me crazy , and yes im in VIS mode

STT-TWS lock still don't working for the MIRAGE 2000 even after this update. And is not working for months now. You can't lock target with the radar except with bore-vertical-horizontal scans. Anyone know anything about this?
