30 degree turn while maintaining on speed AOA is the toughest thing I’ve ever encountered thus far on any flight simulator

@@michaeltorode8689 You lose lift the more you bank aswell, compensate by adding a small amount of throttle preemptively, as you begin your bank. This will catch it before the "oh shit im falling out of the sky" moment

Great video as always. The on speed AoA concept at 4:54 seconds is the most confusing part of landing a Hornet. How is this being maintained is it throttle and trim manipulation? When I come to this phase of the flight I always have problems moving the E bracket down to the flight path marker and keeping it there. Once I get it there it tends to continue to move about and I have to make huge throttle changes to get it to stabilize. This problem persists even during straight-in landings. Any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

I talk about this a little in the next video. The greatest mistake you can make is to panic about the E bracket. In that example the pitch is centered and the E bracket is high. The quick answer is to raise pitch to slow the aircraft to the desired airspeed, and reduce power to put the velocity vector where you want it, and keep doing that until the aircraft is in the desired condition. You also need to be proactive with the aircraft, and stop problems before they have time to develop.

@@2frames886 One thing to keep in mind when the E-Bracket appears - the Hornet's Fly-by-Wire logic changes in the way trim works. During normal flight, the pitch trim adjusts the plane to fly at a specific G load (default neutral position is 1G). However, when gear is down - trim adjusts the angle of attack. As long as you manage to trim the AoE to on-speed (center of E-Bracket) the planes FBW will try it's best to keep in there as long as you keep to using your throttles for altitude adjustment, stick pitch inputs will move the AoE drastically off balance. Try an exercise of just flying on-speed angle of attack while straight and level (gear and flaps full down), with no pressure to land. That way you'll get used to it. Anyway, this is a huge topic and take your time.

Funnywise i once had the Chance to Talk to a real Fighter Pilot which has flown the F18 and he says that maintaining the Hornet On-Speed in DCS is way more complicated than it is in Real Life. Maybe of the Throttles that will be much better in Real Life than ours?

You should be getting it set up with trim and then not touching the pitch at all. I think as nice as this approach looks Supanova wasnt' quite flying by the book as it looked like he was using pitch on final where you really shouldn't need to at all. Once trimmed for AoA you just use a tiny bit of roll/rudder as needed for angle but no pitch. Your pitc is essentially controlled by the throttle and you need to be alive on that throttle which is how I can tell he wasn't doing it :) You will be dancing with that throttle all the way to the ground if you do it right.

Just wanted 2 ask - there's absolutely no pitch movement on the stick at any point once ur On Speed AOA yes? B it Carrier Overhead of Airfield Overhead cuz I'm always left to wonder as I've seen lost of vids with at least some minimal pitch adjustments...

I think ideally you're looking to make no pitch adjustments, but you can use pitch to fix errors and then catch up with throttle input. Pitch is more immediate and power will take longer to catch up. But ideally you want to reach a point where you're skilled enough to always be ahead of the game using power.

Uhh what? You don’t use pitch at all once you’re trimmed for on speed aoa, you control the descent only by your throttle.

I suppose the easiest way to think of it as simply having the correct combination of airspeed and angle of attack for whatever the aircraft weight is.
