My track ir has fits in the Mossie. I'm using your profile from a old video of yours which bth works just great in other AC. Just out of interest what profile are you using on this occasion and do you mind sharing? Cheers.
@British-Dragon-Simulations3 жыл бұрын
@@harrysmith1986 I used to use other people's profile's at first but they never felt right. That's because everyone has different angles, different monitor size, different camera placement, possibly a different camera, maybe a different LED set, different track IR LED head set placement, heights, distance's and preference's, room and LED brightness. There's also probably more than what I've listed. But it's the distances and angles that will certainly be a factor. Their are too many differences for it to work the same way as the the person who designed it for himself and then gave you his profile curve settings over the internet. It's similar to borrowing a stranger's clothes but you have no idea what his body shape or shoe size is. I gave up trying and just spent time making my own profile. Constantly tweaking it for about a week or so to get it right. I'm still (on occasion) tweaking the curves and number's one year later. But it works great, for me. And I'm not worried about screwing my profile up by trying to go a bit more in-depth into it and maybe try something new, now and again. The application has the in game camera head view so you can tweak it in real time and see the results immediately and it also should have a cockpit template. You can download more as well. I have profile's for every simulation I play now, but most only vary in different button configuration's ie re-centre and pause, smoothing etc. All my flight combat sim curve profiles all stay the same. Flight Simulator 2020 will have different sensitivity curve settings as I need it to be more smooth and accurate at looking at my cockpit instruments and I don't need to keep checking my six every few seconds or so. Even all my driving sims all have the same 1:2 linear straight line ratio profile, as I only need to see my mirror's and my left and right (yaw). It's definitely been time well spent to get it working right for me. Also the distance from the camera to the LED light's is very important. About three feet away works well for me. My PC monitor is my main front room TV, so my TV/ monitor sits about six feet away from me. I use a tall thin box to attach my camera on at eye level but also placing the camera slightly to my left, as that's the side my head LED light's are. I hope this helps you and you make your own profile that works best for you.

A VERY short time! I cannot dogfight with this. If you're loaded with tanks, bombs and fuel, you're dead meat. It's not meant for that, but when hitting a ground target, you're in your element. Even light loaded is a struggle. Your best option is to run and keep jinking and skidding around so they can't line you up easily. Eventually they'll give up!

A lot of the people that made the Mosquito were in fact, furniture makers. Many people don't know that the back of the Hurricane was also covered in linen and not metal. This helped make possible the thick armor plate behind the pilot, because of the saving in weight, and also made repairs that much easier to carry out. It's much easier and quicker to patch a bullet hole in linen than in metal. War's a funny old game when you think about it.

Outer tanks for engine starts they are non pressurized Unless exterior tanks are used and the fuel pump is turned on But only after tank is low to empty then they will be pressurized. If tanks are full the fuel pump will overflow to the atmosphere. Inner tanks are Pressurized and should be used for low level flight and mission and landing and takeoff to avoid engine shutoff from fuel loss like you were having. Understanding that during startup the PVC Pressure Venting Cock must be turned open/on to pressurize the inner tanks so this must be left on for the entire mission.

When you bind controls, there is a axis tune option. You can add a sensitivity curve to allow more control in some regions and less in others.

Check DCS user`s manual. All explained there already. Applies to all aircrafts. Curves are for joistick axis, rudder and ailerons. Softening the curves will enable you to fly in smooth non- jerky manner.

Even with a full HOTAS TM setup still trying to figure out a way to control engine power + rpm. Using the split throttle one for power one for pitch is easy but you need 2 axis. The increase/decrease forward/back slider is right there but what to use it for I am yet to figure. Maybe use it for dual power and both throttles split for controlling each engine power separate? Which leaves rpm or pitch?
@Spudknocker3 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind you can use modifiers on axis!
@Haribo2113 жыл бұрын
I use Reflected's method suggested in his vid - split throttles for boost left and right, trim slider for combined RPM of both engines (since you're going to need separate precise boost control all the time, while separate RPM control - very rarely). So far it does the job. I think I'll keep on flying like that until I purchase proper quadrant ;).
@PappyGunn3 жыл бұрын
I use that gray slider for pitch. Throttle are manifold pressure. SO in the mossie, each throttle controls boost, also called manifold pressure in US aircraft. The gray is prop pitch, it controls RPM. I want to synch engine RPM, so both engine's pitch is tied to that one gray slider.
@CakePrincessCelestia3 жыл бұрын
I have two extra quadrants (the Saitek ones), so I don't have that problem. One is around 45 bucks IIRC, but they need some service (contact spray, maybe even disassembling, cleaning and reassembling) after a while because the pots start spiking. Probably a good alternative would be the Thrustmaster TCA throttle.

Good early access video. Thank You. Question, In the Taxi Video by ED they did a extensive grown crew procedure for pulling chalks and unlocking wheel parts, You didn't have to do that, Why? was it removed? I hope so I thought at the time it was a bit to much. It's to hard to tell (judge)in your recorded video resolution the quality of the exterior skin, You mentioned it to be OK but not as good as a F14. I was kind of shocked when I first seen it thinking it was dull and lifeless looking. I Hope that gets upgraded in the Early Access Time Line. The Flat tire animation is in need of more time to perfect other then just dropping the tire under the ground to the hub. But it is Early Access and it's cool to get it out for fun Videos like this. Thank You again. I enjoyed this.
