The Six fired its Falcons in pairs. One future mod to consider would be a gun equipped F-106; the gun could be fitted in lieu of the Genie, it was lethal! The Six turned out to be an excellent dogfighter; discovered in dissimilar air combat training. Minor niggle aside, excellent mod.

Yes, but in reality, it scooted around the field for several minutes... Because it's engine was still running at flight idle... making thrust 😂 It stopped sliding around when it ran out of fuel.

@@stinkyfungusyup, then they put it on a train, took it back to the base, repaired it and put it back to work. I am pretty sure I saw that jet in the USAF museum in Dayton, OH a few years back. A place that any wing nut should put on their bucket list to visit.

2-words, "OUTSTANDING"... The F-106 is one of my FAVORITE aircraft and currently building a 1/72nd scale kit for a display at a local Air Force Base's Library.

The Delta Dart actually flew for a lot longer than most people think. The very last one was just retired a few years ago. No idea what the USAF was using it for though. It's in a museum now.

Was still a while ago at this point I believe (1997-1998 if the dates are correct), they brought a few jets out of retirement for some air-towing tests at Edwards AFB for something called "Project Eclipse." Not sure if they were ever brought out for more testing though, so they may have flown again more recently.

Was a member of the 48th FIS, Langley AFB, Virginia 1964,65 before Vietnam. We had 106s. A seriously bad to the bone interceptor. Some of the first astronauts flew them because of their speed. Very cool ride!

It’s an f-106 in looks only though… it’s a tweaked f-15 fm and f-15 avionics.. looks great but is nothing like an actual full fidelity mod or third party module

Missiles from F-106 came directly off the dual rails. Two in front, two in rear. Missiles were fired in pairs to increase probability of kill.

absolutely correct! Furthermore, if there is a missiles all option. the IR seekig missles will be fired first, then the radar guided missiles. This is done so the IR missiles don’t accidentally track the radar missiles.

Awesome add on! I grew up to the west of KI Sawyer AFB and vaguely remember the 87th FIS . My father would see them on occasion while flying fire patrol. Great memories!

The F-106 actually had the targeting computer for them though. The F-4 didn't, which was a big reason for them not working.

Aim-4s were perfectly capable of hitting bombers. Bombers don't maneuver nearly as hard, and unlike the Sparrow and Sidewinder, the Falcon had an impact fuse. A single falcon was much more likely to bring down a bomber than a single sidewinder or sparrow.

Two things I hope for this mod: the nuclear Genie missile (it is there as I see) and the large bang sound of the afterburner. Same as the MiG-21 has, but way bigger.

Genie is there in it's full unguided, killing an entire town of vehicles glory. Afterburner sounds the same as the F15C as far as I can tell. Definitely noticable if you have "loud afterburner sounds" on, but not nearly as loud as the 21.

When I was in the air force our base had one as a static display, we got to do a restoration paint on it and I was so overjoyed to get to paint something with color for once. Grey gets incredibly boring really quickly.

The F-106 still holds the record today for fastest single engine jet over a timed/closed course. She had internal weapons bays, remote control flight control and was a true mach 2 fighter loaded with weapons.

As in real life, this thing is good at intercepting bombers, and not much else (unless you count killing a whole town or flight with a single Genie). It is alot of fun, and I hope it still sees use alongside the F-4.

the 106....what a sexy machine...ive been playing 'DCS' since flanker 1.0 and before that was everything 'Janes' had in it..(like Longbow, ATF, USAF, F15, WWII fighters)- Flanker 2.0 and Falcon 4 really put the burners on though...to see what sims are now compared to loading them from DOS is pretty amazing.. (not a fan of the clickology though, prefer the LOMAC implementation).

No salvo mode for the Falcons? They should launch two at a time with an automatic bay door cycle.

Afaik the F15C (and the F-106) has a salvo mode bind, so you could fire multiple missiles at once that way if you want. The bay door automatically cycles in the mod whenever you hold the weapon release button.

Nice one, JP. As usual. Would it go against your ‘rules’ to comp in a small nuclear explosion from the Genie? I know it won’t happen in game, so there’d probably need to be some kind of disclaimer or some people might get salty about a vid that acts as a release notification, but that’s where the Dart is a hell of a lot of fun. I’ve just cancelled eight backfires about to launch their cruise missiles, and even without the visual blast, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to see two flights just fall out of the sky 😊 Thinking about it, I’m sure you’ve already considered it. As you were.

I cant help but too get cold war vibes here. The design of the dart hull reminds "a tad" of the Viggen as well. On a sidenote. I flew a half ass attempt version of the bear aircraft in arma 3 once. The turn rate was hideous. Hopefully they are a little more agile in DCS 😁

War Thunder doesn't have F105 and it seems they wont add it themselves you might try to sell them model and cockpit. 3d model can go up to 10k€ and cockpit 8k€ so in total 18€k max if i got it right from agreement.
