The big issues I've noticed in VR: 1. shadows disappearing/reappearing 2. F-18 startup (manually or auto) crashes the game every time. 3. Other aircraft appear as black smudges regardless of sharpening or LOD settings.

I've experienced a very large (30%) improvement in FPS, but a ton of visual bugs and glitches. F2 is basically unusable now, as every aircraft has a migraine-inducing shake effect. Lots of fading in/out shadows, glowing lines across terrain, ghosting, etc.

I got a huge jump in FPS 60 fps to 160fps but the stuttering is nearly unbearable now. I keep experimenting and trying anything I can think of but the stutters/pauses remain. Edit: Nvidia released a new driver (October 29/30 2023) that has seemingly fixed my issue entirely. I now get a stable smooth 110-130FPS on High.

i've noticed planes an jets don't move or effect the grass with propwash or jet wash while sitting with rear facing the grass but helicopters will .i only play in vr an just don't use the ingame scaling i use the open vr in headset options as i only run a 1080ti,oc because ai cores are no use in vr we need physical cores to brute-force frames. i have only seen the grass problem an the shaking in f2 otherwise very good experience for me i get around 60-65 fps in reverb g2

I experienced my a2a radar screens in the 15 and 18 become very ghosty after the update with DLSS on. Like the curser leaves behind trails when slewed around.

My user experience so far: In VR MSAAx2 still gives best framerates, but lower visual quality. DLSS gives best quality and a very smooth experience even though my framerates are low. In 2D, DLSS looks absolutelly amazing for screenshots and videos.

My top tip for anyone seeing ghosting, turning on blur really helps make it look more natural, high looks even better but it comes with a small fps hit for me. Running FC3 without upscaling till HUD is fixed and still getting a huge performance gain.

After several hours of tweaking and testing.. my sweetspot for VR is DLSS - Performance, with 0.5 sharpening. The FPS indicator is flashing between GPU and CPU bound continously

@@richstephens4305 i have 2 rigs.. one is a 2070 super, i7 7700.. the other is a 10700k and a 3070.. Edit: i use a Quest 2 on the 2070 rig and a Quest 3 on the 3070 rig

Personally I think the greatest gains will be had on lower end systems. I've tried the dlss and dlaa in VR on my system and it didn't seem to make much difference in my limited testing.(12700kf + 3080) Im sure they can improve the weird artefacts that have appeared in this patch and the shake weight aircraft external views. 😊

Yeah I play on a 1070 and the dlss is a no go for me, but I still think the new options allow me to make the game more readable, and I think it just runs better all around

I noticed that TACAN's are no longer working beyond 10-15NM out and the Pilot Gunner is missing from the Crew Status Page in the MI-8 MTV2. He's visible in the helo door but you can't activate him via the Crew Status Page.

120-160fps but it doesn’t matter, because the stuttering and pausing makes it a joyless experience. i7 13700k RTX 4080 32GB ram. Edit: The new Nvidia driver (October 29/30 2023) has seemed to fix this entirely. I am not getting a solid 110-130 fps on high with only light stutters.

I've got some troubleshooting to do... My MT client gets 20-30 fps in VR despite having the same or lower settings as my ST client which gets 40-60 frames in the same situations... At the same time I'm probably gonna wind up building a new computer this tax season anyway so I'm not sure if I care enough to do the legwork right now.

Personally, I get pretty decent frames and the game looks okay with lots of sharpening but the displays are noticeably artifacted. It’s too annoying to use DLSS in its current state. However, this doesn’t surprise me. It’s an open beta y’all 😂 not a stable release. It’s gonna look terrible- that’s the point. People expect way too much out of open beta

i don't have an Nvidia card so i can't use DLSS, FSR ive been told gives greater fps gains but the fidelity of the image is significantly decreased imo. I don't know which FSR they have implemented, but its worse than what I've seen in other games. There is also a lot of ghosting. Still need to try NIS. Anyways, what really bugs me is the stutters(now a problems for months) and lag, inherent to this update. Playing online is very difficult with how often things freeze and aircraft rubber band. Don't even get me started on carrier ops. The content this update is fantastic, but the bugs are really bad.

@stephan4923 with how good multi threading is among other optimizations I have zero fps problems at 2k. I've even started using msaa 4x without significant problems. The performance is very good now. Online seems to be better too. Even so it is nice to FSR is being improved too.

i have found a fix. i had selected MT preview but it didnt work. Now I switched from MT preview to St then back to Mt and now everything works..

with dlss in vr I get better performance with little to no ghosting but the hud in the su27 has a ton of ghosting for some reason

MSAA is still the way to go if you have a good GPU.

MSAA looks the best, but as for me I like DLAA/TAA better as it uses less GPU overhead with a bit of image losses.

In heavy missions like th dynamic campaign from DCC or Liberation I was under 60 sadly with my current specs. I know it sound's wierd. Now things are good 👍
