This mission was really helpful learning the nuances of the SU-27s autopilot features which have always been a little tricky for me. I had to cut it in half to get to classes and then edited it to start where I left off for a night flight for night practice.

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have the time available that I used to. So these come much less frequnetly than they used to.

Amazing. So beautiful and relaxing. I was not aware the mas was actually so close to the real world.

Mal Bicho, it’d be great if the land textures were photo-realistic but still good the way they chose to do it. I’d still like to do one for the northern Caucasus.

Great tour video! Plenty of points of interest I had no idea existed, really interesting.

Thank you. :) Working on the Northern Tour now. Hope to have it completed before too much longer.

Amazing! Can you make the next video using the J-11?
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I've already captured most of the video for the Northern Tour and I'd rather not have to redo everything. So it won't be the next one. After that, however....

Great. Awesome job and a lot of work put into it. Giving out a like for future hardware improvements ^>^

Thanks. It was a lot of work but enjoyable as well. And thanks for taking the time to comment.

By the way, any reason you didn't show or go into detail about the airports around Tbilisi
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
:) Lack of interest on my part, I suppose. I seldom use them myself and, so, tend not to give them much thought. That being said, however, I'm never certain how long I can sustain people's interest in a video like this. So I tend to focus on things that interest me the most and let the rest fall by the wayside. And hope for the best.

I am just asking as you did show batumi, kobuleti and kutaisi airfields and said something about them. It was a bit odd for me, when you skipped the other ones and I was just wondering if there was a reason. I was looking forward to them. Nevermind, waiting for the North section. Cheers

You know, that's a great idea for a video, though--one that focuses on the airports/airbases in the sim--what they were and what they are now.
@RobertRidleyakatrebor6 жыл бұрын
It would be cool if the developers of DCS would add all or even some of those landmarks and buildings that you mentioned in this video as missing.
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
I doubt we'll ever see that...not from them, anyway. This is, after all, a free map. So I'm sure they'd rather focus their resources elsewhere.

Great video and commentary! Enjoyed it a lot. It should be made into a mission file with audio commentary :) Although it would probably not be possible to display the real world comparison pictures which added a lot of value. One question though - what happened to the flankertraining.com website?
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
:) Funny you should mention that. I'm working on the northern tour now and a few days ago experimented with adding voice descriptions of what was coming up to the mission file. Really liked the outcome. Just not sure how big the file would become with a lot of verbal description. I did try adding images to the kneepad but didn't much care for the outcome.
@kontoname6 жыл бұрын
They probably could be compressed enough as they probably are in the module tutorials voiced by Matt Wagner. It would be an awesome idea I think! Maybe some pros from the community will be able to help.
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
I experimented a bit and, even with a lot of verbal description, the filesize should be manageable.
@kontoname6 жыл бұрын
That sounds awesome - I could even imagine you work it out a bit and try to sell it as a small module for a dollar or so. Maybe with scripted smoke markers to guide the view on top of waypoints. I could even imagine you to complete a map tour and sell it for a dollar or so. Could work out! :)

Is the sea area farely large to fly around in? I'd love to get a reply
@Flankertrainingcom4 жыл бұрын
The surface area of the Black Sea is only 168,500 sq mi (436,402 sq km). So it’s not huge and you can cross it fairly quickly in a fast jet. You definitely won’t be taking multi-hour long flights across it. Also, with the exception of the Caucasus region, the surrounding land areas are flat and featureless in the sim. But you can always check it out yourself, since the map is free to download and use with the two free aircraft included with it.
@degenetron75904 жыл бұрын
@@Flankertrainingcom Alright thanks, I just prefer flying over water than on land and not wanting to spend 50 bucks on a map that had a large sea surface. I'll check it out as soon as I get on my pc

Anything interesting around Senaki ?
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
It's a major transportation hub for the area--both rail and road. The Nokalakevi Fortress is there...at least I think that's where it's located. And anytime you google Senaki, you'll see images of the State Theater building.

Thick Yankee accent from a Su-27 cockpit... Very convincing. Not. How demeaning for this beauty to have to bear with it over the course of the tour. Already unbearable for my ears. Wasn't there any F-15 around? Maybe all shot down, I assume... ;))
@Flankertrainingcom6 жыл бұрын
:) Unfortunately it’s the accent I come with and the Flanker is the aircraft I enjoy the most. So that’s where I go. She's the most beautiful aircraft in the sky.
