ED should really rework the Caucasus map. They removed the Ukraine East shore and Crimea because 2008 they wanted to extend the map to include Georgia, after the Georgia tried to annex South-Ossettia. So there was good modern NATO vs South-Ossettia/Russia conflict theater. But doing so, they really were back then in that Terrain Engine version pushing hard for the count numbers for objects and terrain mesh resolution. Now they could redo it all, including Ukraine, new Russia territories and increase the number of towns, roads and railroads and landmarks. It would be greatest DCS map to exist. And you can bet that people would enjoy to have a proper amount of the Ukraine on right side of the Dnieper river, extend it to 50-100 km and you have everything that any modern NATO fan wants.

Thx for videos I watched all 3, I have a question: while my F-15 radar is tracking target to guide semiactive missile, I need to maneuvre to evade enemy missile but I don't wont to lose my lock. How can I know how much antenna inclination is near the limit? For example, on hud of SU-27, ATK symbol blinks.
@Flankertrainingcom8 ай бұрын
The right and left edge of the VSD are your gimbal limits. Just keep the target where you can see it. FWIW, the blinking ATK symbol means that you’ve already exceeded the Flanker radar’s gimbal limits. You are in extrapolation mode where the radar is projecting (guessing) where the target is heading for the next several seconds before the track is dropped, if the target is not reacquired. On the Su-27’s HUD, the left side limit is defined by the vertical range bar line. In the real world Flanker there’s a closure speed line on the right that, I think, defines the right side limit. At any rate, in the sim, you just need to be careful on the right side.
@bergomynkia8 ай бұрын
@@Flankertrainingcom- Thank you for your reply. Yes, on F-15 I look VSD to know limits but it isn't enough: if I pitch up or down, limits on VSD are no longer correct. If only they move (to close).. or is there something I don't know? Approximately: one target locked at 45° left/right, distance 7 to 10 nm, at my altitude, I pitch up 35° and climb, lost lock after 15'000 to 19'000 feet above target (maintaining target in the same position on VSD). It's to much an approximate method to know how much I can turn maintaining lock :(
@Flankertrainingcom8 ай бұрын
@@bergomynkia Ahhh… you were asking about the vertical angle limits. I’m not sure what they actually are. But at such close ranges, I never let the altitude differential get that high for the very reason you’ve encountered, if I’m trying to keep the target locked.

Wow, this tutorial series for the F-15C is one of the greatest things I have ever watched. Infact it’s so amazing, it makes me almost wanna cry knowing this is the last one. I have severe ADD which makes me struggle to focus while learning, but I never felt like I missed anything for the entire duration of all three videos. Your info is relevant almost 10 years later, your examples are wonderful, the process you give is perfect, you teach info in the most memorable way, and you also teach some very useful info outside the context of the radar that really helps, (while also throwing in some comedy that really brings a good mood). I feel like I was being told this info from someone right in front of me, and even after flying this plane for abt a year, I feel like I have never really taken control until this moment. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and giving people the ability to shape their wings in the F-15C.

@Flankertrainingcom Жыл бұрын
Do you mean that it feels like the aircraft is being pushed slightly left of the runway as you’re flying down the glideslope? If that’s the case, that’s because there’s a slight crosswind in the mission moving across the runway from right to left. The easiest way to handle it is to maintain a slight bank to the right to counter it until just before touchdown. Another way to handle it is to use a bit of right rudder. Given the conditions, either will work.

@11:34 as you approach Corner speed(which was deduced to be 520km/s at the instantanous corner speed flyby) speed you need to reduced Gs(G's is the demand i.e upward motion you are demanding and that is supplied by the speed at that time (whihc generates the lift)..you need to holde (i.e fly)the speed at the lower 600kms. and so at that point in time when the speed is just at the corner(You can still pull more G's) i.e demand for tha instant turn to kill.

When I pass through waypoint 2, my navigation systems automatically direct me to the next waypoint, but the next tutorial message never cycles. I've seen people say that the tutorial gate is actually much smaller than the waypoint, but I just can't seem to hit it, even with autopilot. I'm sure with enough practice I can land on my own, so it's more of an annoyance than anything, but would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Update: it appears the tutorial gate is actually around 1700-1900 meters, instead of the suggested 1920. Once I figured that out I haven't had much trouble hitting it
