Man, I wish I knew how to operate this game. I feel like calling it "playing" a game is the wrong word to use at this point lol. This is absolutely incredible.

@@LtRabbit Indeed. Almost every last detail has been sorted out in this Hornet within DCS. Even down to the bit test involving the FCS. One of my favorite little "easter eggs" that lives within the bug. Watching the surfaces do their thing and seeing it displayed in real-time on the MFD is a real treat

@@whiteblackgrayman which easter egg? I am only aware of the april fools landing gear
@whiteblackgrayman2 жыл бұрын
@@LtRabbit I consider the bit test (although normal) do be a hidden display of the FCS in action. Nothing that's actually hidden, but just a niche thing to show those who don't know about it. Solid content, though

Amazing and pretty unique content to have no commentary, long format DCS. Would absolutely love more of it, great as background "noise" instead of just white noise while working/studying to drown out ambient noise.

Is this a good start up plane for begginners? I play only on vr with index. And i dont have a joystick yet. How do you manage botton binds? can we use knuckle controllers?
@LtRabbit4 жыл бұрын
I would say the F18 and the A10 are the best to first learn. Try to learn both (one at a time) Its not very complicated and it gives you a very basic picture of what systems do and what dependencies they have. The easiest to start is the P51 but it will only give you a picture of prop engine systems. Before I had the warthog i used a cheap joystick. And i mapped button binds to suit my memory. Dont bother too much getting ALL button binds sorted at the begining. Go for a fly realize you need autopilot. Then set auto pilot. Set AS YOU GO. Easiest way to learn. And i still do it to this day with new aircraft. As for VR i cannot help. I use track IR for my sims. I hope that helps you on your journey. Happy hunting

wow how come the mainstream famous game msfs20 which even teamed up with Paramount for Top Gun, how come it is nowhere near as detailed in terms of both sight & sound compared to this, given how this is much older you'd think Microsoft would have wanted to impress given how they have a lot less aspects to work on, this sounds better and just looks better.
@LtRabbit2 жыл бұрын
There are probably a few reasons. At its base I believe it is catering to different interests. I like MSFS when I want a casual flight, try and use nav beacons etc. The old hornet has lots of declassified info but i think the super bug in msfs might still have classified info. I do agree tho, DCS certainly has more depth.

@@thekingbanana7323 you can import charts if you like, some missions and aircraft have their own folder for charts from memory. I have not played with editing them, the hornet and a10 usually have all the airfields but i think the mustang for example does not have them. You can get custom ones made from the community on the eagle dynamics forum. From startup sheets to mission specific and even ground identification and data sheets... sure i saw one made by one of our community.
