DCS Yak-52

The Yakovlev Yak-52 is a tandem seat, radial engine, trainer aircraft that served as the primary aircraft trainer for the Soviet Union and many other nations. Introduced in 1979, the Yak-52 has been a popular choice among air forces given its rugged construction, ease of handling, tricycle landing gear, and simple maintenance. These same characteristic have made it a popular civilian aerobatics aircraft in its later years.
The Yak-52 is powered by a single Vedeneyev M-14P, nine-cylinder radial piston engine with 360 horsepower. We have created a new radial piston engine simulation from the ground up with a highly-realistic engine cooling model. The aircraft is very response given an empty weight of just one ton and large controls surfaces. Capable of pulling over 7 G and pushing up to negative 5 G, it’s no wonder the Yak-52 has been popular with aerobatic teams around the world.

Before everyone gets angry again, the Yak-52 was made for a different company that was paying ED for this module. One of ED's stipulations in the contract with this company was to let them port the Yak-52 to the public build of DCS. It was either ED give was the Yak-52 or this company keeps it to themselves. This extra money that ED made will go into DCS anyway so this is a win-win for us that we got the Yak-52.

We also had incredible access to the real aircraft, as well as real pilots from general aviation and acrobatic teams. It's an incredible opportunity to really dive in deep on a radial engine aircraft, will only benifit DCS World going forward.

A Bell UH-1H Huey Anyone complaining that this is not a military aircraft is a child. If you want realism, it doesn't get anymore realistic than this. You might fly a plane like the Yak in your life. But you will never fly a Sabre or Mirage in your life.

lobsternutz I don't have any friends though. Plus friends can be stupid and unreliable and they also might not want to do aerobatics but instead play aircod in the f15. A aerobatics/formation training campaign would be pretty easy for a experienced missing creator to build and it would be great for each and every plane I think you a dumb guy for your comment

RIP your English. Okay, now that's out of the way. My friends are goofs, sure, however they take flying pretty seriously and I'm sure most people who invest into flight simulations are typically pretty serious when it comes to that. You don't pay for an expensive add-on just to dick around in usually. Anyway, videos and practice is the way to go really, even with an AI.

Just an idea, I would LOVE to see a Pilatus PC-21 one day implemented into DCS! Its a great trainer which pilots usually train on before going directly onto the F/A-18 in many Air Forces around the world

It is a ”feature” of DCS the last versions where the anti-collision lights shine through the plane into the cockpit and gives the red strobing light. Annoying and it happens in other aircrafts in DCS as well.

Даааааа, и музончик ещё. Просто лепота.... И пилотаж там, и картинка, и заклёпочки, и многоэтажечки знакомые. А в жизни, я даже близко кабину не видел, ну хоть 3-хминутное мини-кино посмотрел. Да, и рекламу тоже, но приятно, реклама мягкая, не агрессивная, не каких там пропихонов на(по)(через) "низах", а прямо и переносно используется(или взывается, предлагается, не знаю как правильней) чувство "высокого". "плюсик" от души, а вот по деньгам я пока просадил, даже Ми-8 не прикупал к Су-25Т dcs 1.5. _ ... Ну и да, конечно, спокойная "подача", самолёт же гражданский. И короче говоря, 5 километров из 5, а если ещё и динамический потолок, то 6 км. из 5 у ентого видосика. ☺☺☺☺☺

Hey Matt, if you're there, out of curiosity; Are there any plans to fix the sporadic cockpit shadows? Specifically you can catch it even at 0:09-0:11 and it's why I keep shadows at "flat only." No matter what I do to my Nvidia control panel it always happens and it seems to be from the engine's side. I know it may seem small but it's the last thing I want to really feel immersed in this sim. It's much worse on some aircraft compared to others, but it's definitely there. I have a 1080ti, Ryzen 7 2700x, and 32GB RAM if it makes a difference. I also have DCS on an SSD (860 Evo), so I just don't know :( Love the release by the way, keep up the great work everyone at ED! You will find yourselves very rewarded in your careers and in your lives. :)

ED, I am curious as to whether this opens DCS up to amazing trainers such as the PC9 (or 21); T6 texan; etc... I know this particular module was circumstantial, is there a possibility more trainers will be developed? I for one was rather disapointed the hawk was not as successful, I have always wanted to fly in the RAAF (Colourblind) or at least fly the trainers and F18 (thank you so much for allowing me to fly the hornet) in a highly modelled simulator. Wouldn't mind a seperate branch of DCS maybe DFS (Digital Flight Similator) where there are civillian aircraft like in xplane, but still compatible with DCS modules, so we can make escort scenarios and stuff or campaign missions where a friendly airliner gets shot down which is the start of a conflict.

What is the Yak landing at? 1:27 Can't be a grass airfield (placeable through the ME) because grass airfields don't have any distinguishing marks, last I checked (soon after Normandy was released). Was this changed? Do grass airfields have objects now, like flags to mark the runway?

Herbert Pocket Multi-crew is actively being worked on. Last I saw, a few weeks ago, they were working out which switches, knobs, etc. would be clickable by pilot or copilot. No date yet, but it is actively being worked on.
