I think they could make people much happier if you could change effect visuals on some attacks. For example, you could substitute the heat vision effect for an atomic or fire attack, but keep the mechanics of the base attack. These should be just cosmetic effects IMO, but allowing a fire user to throw fireballs for one of the other, more effective fire attacks would allow for more roleplay options, and make PVP much more uncertain - you would have to figure out your opponent's specific moves before you could fight at top power. Even alternate animations only for specific moves would be good, so your attacks won't seem identical to every other Nature character's, for example. Opinions?

I’ll say it up front I’m an extremely casual player that just cares about looking cool and fighting with or against characters from comics I like. These meta mind sets really annoy me especially when half of my load out is expected to be iconic powers and movement abilities. I picked my power because I wanted my character to be based off that power not booster golds robot side kick Superman’s heat vision and constantly spinning with dervish. Hopefully one day the main powers get buffed up some so that players like me can have good dps actually playing the way I want to without being forced to pick ss just for dervish. I really appreciate that you include loadouts without dervish in your videos for people like me that value a bit of theme and role play over the scoreboard

It could be nice if there was some sort of synergy boost that rewarded you (with boosts to damage, speed, range, and/or area) for using multiple different powers in a row from one power set, with movement powers not participating in this boost (unless they create a method to make a movement method based character, such as a real speedster).

It's really about finding a balance you can live with and still have fun. I know I'll never run elite content and I'm fine with that. But on the other hand it allows me immerse myself a bit more into the games genre.

I prefer flying so i make all my toons skimming or flight. I understand switching to super speed to maximize dmg, but i prefer doing a little less dmg just to be able to fly. I may not be running elite raids, but i still have a lot of fun running normal raids where I’m above average in dmg. I appreciate the guides without movement powers very much

I just don't like using super speed because I keep getting stuck on lampposts and running around doorframes instead of going through them lol. Personally, I'm more of a 'cosplayer' type, and most of my characters are 'Iconics' (Supergirl, Batgirl, Wonder Woman etc) because that's what I want from DCUO (it's not like we're getting a standalone Supergirl game any time soon lol), so they're generally set up to match how those characters would normally fight, but some of them hit surprisingly hard! Hell, two of my most 'powerful' builds go completely against the accepted norm. I have a hybrid fire tank/dps build on my Supergirl which uses swoop and whirlwind flight attacks with heat vision, freeze breath and a couple of fire heals, and she can effectively tank almost anything in the game whilst also hitting for big dps numbers. (admittedly I don't take that build into elite, but for everything else it's great. In Event and Reg she's always top or near top dps) I also have a Harley Quinn 'iconic' prec build that mostly uses a two handed weapon and a load of acrobatic flips and kicks (and the gag glove because, why not?) and she hits WAY harder than she has any right too! She's not as strong all-round as my main Supergirl character, but she hits harder! I've always told my friends who have tried out this game the same thing - find a build that works for you. I could give you my build verbatim, but if you ain't comfortable using it, you ain't gonna enjoy the game. Find something that you find fun and effective to play with, and only worry about getting into metas and min/maxing stats if/when you want to get to that level.

Also the reason I think whirlwind for flight is weaker is because the enemies would be pulled and stay in the general area whereas whirling dervish pushes people away.. which is fine i think because if the mobs are closer people can get more damage off of them

I think what you've been doing in your guides lately is best for everyone. For the non-cosplay people they get the best LO for their dps and the cosplay ppl they get the non SS LO where they can do decent damage without being SS.

Last comment I swear lol. I just wanted to say one place we do kind of different is that I do want to be using movement more powers and iconics because when you are trying to cosplay and make a certain character those moves fits so perfectly. Never should they be more powerful than your actual power but they should definitely good and usable in the rotation if you wanted to. The problem is pretty much everything besides super speed sucks and some powers suck. Buff everything up to that level instead of nerve it down that's my only take I've been saying it since the beginning. But obviously nerfing a couple things is easier than buffing a bunch of things so I know what's going to end up happening. Anyway keep doing you obsidian and I'll keep watching.

I agree. WD and HV for that matter have been broken since before i quit playing in 2016. IMO the majority of damage should come from weapons or powers not a movement mode. They should either nerf WD/HV/FB or even the playng field between movement modes.

The problem I see with using dervish is it becomes a crutch and eventually the crutch will get nerfed also with it being a melee power it's not very good for bosses cuz you'll end up dead most of the time

I've been saying this since revamp/artifacts happened- iconic shouldnt take up 1/3 of your loadout just to be viable. Is why I refuse to play DPS. If I can't play with all abilities from my power and be just as effective as someone with iconic in their loadouts then why bother? So I stick to what I can have all nature powers - healing

I really hate the nerfing approach to things I'm really really so much more of a proponent to buff other things up to the same level obviously that's harder to do and balance so probably just get it nerfed and then people won't use it at all anymore. I like the fact that the speed powers and the iconic powers are getting used. I'd like to use more flight powers and skimming powers and acrobat Powers too and my rotation because that really helps with making certain characters having those Powers be usable but if you just Nerf all the movement mode powers to hell that no one will use them again. Well I mean they already don't besides super speed. The powers themselves need to be buffed in a lot of cases and all the movement mode Powers should be good and powerful and usable that's my take.

Dervish will cancel when it kills an npc, so on multiple targets just move your target at a npc with more health and it will continue to spin for full duration

I can show them what to use but I can't show them how and when to use it etc. You can give a player a loadout but that won't make them as good as as veteran dps because you have trinket, supercharge rotations etc, damage splitting and positioning lots of other factors that go into being a good dps.

You can do a lot of damage with these speed powers ..but in endgame content these are not smart to use, you have to be in melee range... The enemies will devour your health. I'd suggest these powers for a tank trying to have fun on the new content here and there.

dervish would still be used on every set of adds in elite, then single target powers like mental and gadgets for example will still use tornado pull, along with more precision powers because tornado hits harder than any ST ability despite having a full prec spec.

Ur LO tho are great. and it is good that u show us what the highest DMG are. For example I watched many ur LO's especially about celestial and water /(cuz i was ex-celestial main now water main) If ur LO used abilities that where following metas i would start and think to myself what move could i use instead. And tbh i really loved that. Cuz it required me to understand my power and that way i learned much. So I think the best way to pleasure the most people would be: Doing ur LO's with SuperSpeed and show possibility for the Superspeed moves. I dont say u NEED to do that. CUz these are ur videos ur content. U should do what u want! And ur POV is understandable. wanting to do most dmg is cool and if that means following metas than it is what it is. Do what u want man and dont listen to everyone. there are always black sheeps
