About 6 years ago I bought a DD Traveler Hammock w/bug net, double layered water proof bottom (doubles as a bivy), and 3mx3m rain tarp. It was delivered in only 3 days from day of order. I've used the hell out of em in all kinds of weather with no real evident wear. Went ahead & bought the extra large rain tarp...ridge line to ground... which forms a tent over the hammock so my dog has an enclosure during cold weather. Really love all the tie loops so it can be used in all kinds of configurations. IMHO, DD makes very good products.

I have a lot of DD hammocks kit. I have taken them out in all weathers here in the uk. My first 3x3 tarp is still going after 4.5 years. I can recommend it.

I had my 3x3 tarp when I came to the Basic course in Oct 2015. At the time in 2015, I could not find anywhere on the internet (not even on amazon!), an american made equivalent to the DD tarp with its 19 tie out points so I had to order it from the UK. It worked great to cover my hammock at the basic course, LOTS of room underneath. Additionally, on DD's website there are videos on the different ways you can configure their 3 x 3 tarp. I am glad to see someone in the US carrying these great products!

I have used DD products for a couple of years now and found them good. I slept outdoors in a DD Jura II sleeping bag last night at below 0 degrees Celsius (29 degree Fahrenheit), just in underwear, and got too warm! The 3x3m tarp is good with plenty of reinforced tie outs and my hammock is also DD. I wish Self Reliance Outfitters every success selling these very good products.

I have one of the original DD ponchos, is an amazing bit of kit. If you want a good begginer hammock the DD camping hammock is ideal along with a Snugpak underblanket. If anyone wants any advice on Snugpak let me know I live near the factory and know it well. High fives from Northern England,

Yeah, I want to know something: How far down would you estimate someone would be warm in with the Snugpack Jungle Bag? I've got one & it's a good overall design, but I don't know how far down it can comfortably go. If you could give me an estimate with an SOL Bivy around it too, that would be great!

Looks cool. I saw a similar one made by a Finish company called Wildward. The only difference is the inside is lined with a silver reflective material that helps retain heat when you have a fire in front of it with the door pitched like an awning. You should check them out. I don't think they are sold in the states either.

Sweet stuff. I was thinking of getting a tent this spring to go along with my hammock camping set. Some days I want to put up the hammock but sometimes it really seems like a sleeping pad, bag, and a tent is the bees knees.

DD Dave NOT D&D !! Been using their Tarps and their Fronline hammock for about 7-8 yrs now and can't fault them, 3x3 for ground dwelling and 4x4 for hammocking, plenty of shelter space iff the weather turns bad, their very popular here in Britain, 👍🏻🇬🇧

Thanks Dave ! I think this is what I've been looking for, for a long time. The lightness of a tarp, the enclosure of a tent and an optional bug screen so you don't get eaten alive in the summer, and the protection from the elements in the winter. I'm used to tents, not tarps and I don't like hammocks. Wonder if they make one of these tents with a stove jack for an ultralight wood stove??
