In this video, I go over how I found a DD15 Coolant Leak on a DD15 Detroit Diesel engine. A coolant test can verify if there are combustion gases present in the coolant. Sometimes you will need to pressure test the coolant system to find the origin of coolant entering the engine, but in this case, we did not need to since it was visible. The first signs of issues in the coolant system can be noted when discoloration is visible in the coolant reservoir, that is why it is very important to check the condition and color of coolant in the coolant reservoir.

Great videos, thanks for that. I do have a question. My DD15 has a bad water transfer tube hose (blue 3” x 4”ish hose in front up top left) do I need to drain before changing? Or just swap r&r it, top off? Thanks & be happy to get you a coffee, it’s the least we can do. Appreciate it.

Adan I have a squeal coming from driver side of my dd15. Only until the motor warms up and only at idle. At idle once warmed up it stops. You can hit the throttle and let off and it does it again for less and less time as engine warms. What do you think man? By the way

10w30 or 15w40 will work. if you are going for high interval change than I would recommend running oil sample.

By mistake instead I add engine oil I bullet antifreeze like small size bottle water in the engine then I drove almost 40 miles then I change the oil on the fuel filter and the oil filter what do you think is gonna happen to the engine it’s running good now

Ali, We are sorry to hear about your problems. We recommend doing an oil sample after 5k miles. If damaged has occurred, than you will get a low oil pressure warning
