Great flick, very moving the way his love for his wife is portrayed & how she kept him going. 👍👍

Doris Day and Ronald Reagan dated each other during the making of this movie. Of course they were between marriages at the time. He went on to marry starlet Nancy Davis. Doris Day married Marty Melcher.

I have one of those oak telephone ringer sets. I am a Verizon field technician and thought it was cool. Party lines you hooked the tip/ring leads up to the iron wires. Pretty high tech stuff in 1900.

Thanks for the technical info. I like learning new things. Now can you help me with my phone? 😂Thanks so much. Have a great day 👍

Was on party line where I grew up in Wisconsin. My sisters would listen in on conversations for gossip.! 😁

I was there when the phone company sent an actual human to my grandmother's home to tell her that she was the last one, that there would no longer be party lines. History!!

I never heard of this Doris Day movie. I thought I seen them all. Ronald Reagan is too for Doris Day, but he has a strong pitching arm

This movie is called The Winning Team 1952 - great film I always loved stories about baseball .

I didn't know this is a baseball movie. Grover Alexander, pitcher for the Saint Louis Cardinals vs New York Yankees in the world series, with Doris Day and Ronald Reagan. Great film.

Sorry i didnt get tne story ..he was sick n doctor gave a gloomy diagnosis n he got drunk n had to work in amusement park? He got "lost" for a while. When his wife found him, his sickness was gone and a good ending to the movie? I wish i knew how this happened.

Sadly Martin Melcher, to all of Doris Day money that she made for movies and blew up. She ended up being broke after I think he had passed away.

such a lovely women. Makes one wonder why women go for men like that
@davidcouch6514Ай бұрын
Her Son Terry went through her affairs after Melcher’s death and discovered he had gone through her fortune and had to be the one to tell her. This forced her out of “retirement” to Star in The Doris Day Show.

She was a naieve woman like Debbie Reynolds (same thing happened to her) and me. I had similar experiences. We know now that narcissists target women like who are too trusting.

Reagan was 41 years old at the time, too old to play Grover who is a teenager at the beginning of the film. Amee never sang that well.

doris day was only 11 years younger and yet she looks likwe a teenager and he looks like her father
