I have a local doe that appears to have CWD. It has been around for more than 5 years, and it appears to be recovering. It's started putting on weight, although it's not at a healthy weight yet. It is becoming more lucid, its coat is regaining some color, and I'm starting to think that it just might live. I don't think CWD is always fatal.

CWD is ALMOST ALWAYS FATAL ... ALMOST ALWAYS ! I saw a video once that showed a bunch of dead deer and all of their hooves were deformed. If you ever have a Friend who kills a Deer with messed up Hooves , make sure you get him to get it checked.

Your right on uncle Ted! I live right in the heart of the cwd zone in Southern Wisconsin, I've personally seen first hand what are DNR are doing to the deer herd here still. It would make you sick, absolutely bullshit. They go around talking certain people getting permission to dump piles of corn on there land and set up drop net's to catch them and then collar them for there so called studies. And alot of them deer that get collard end up dieing because of it. They bait deer late winter in are state park, Governor dodge, and hire sharp shooters, whatever they are, and shoot them at night off the piles. And you know what there studies reveal? That the number one thing that kill deer is, deer hunters! 50 million dollars.

And if there is a silver lining to the madness, are numbers of deer are way down, but I'd say the quality of of the bucks has gone way up, just not alot of them. I've got over 20 mounts on the wall and 80% of them are 5+ years old and over 160, and almost all of them were positive cwd, they were all healthy heavy bodyed animals. So in my eye's if there living that long and growing that big, who really gives a shit if they have it. Just my two cents!
