The turning point in this game may have been move 82. There was no need to make eye shape since you were already solidly connected to your living group on the upper left. A stone in the middle left side instead could have had both the options of making a base below, or of running to safety towards the middle group on the right. At the same time, it would have threatened to kill the four black stones above. Black would have been hard pressed to prevent you from realizing all three of those option.

Yes that is a much better strategy than what I did. haha I still have a hard time (in the heat of the moment) to correctly see other moves. I guess i need to virtually put my stone back in the bowl and really think about my moves

It depends. Each game has their pros and cons. IMO I think this game is easier to pick up but much harder to master. The abstracted map development and fighting back and forth makes it hard for most new players (myself included) to see who is ahead and who is behind. Good thing about this game is that a blunder isn’t detrimental to your overall game like in chess. Many chess folks transition into this game once they hit a solid plateau in their Elo ranking I’ve heard :)
