Jake is the king of psychology. Anybody that sits under his learning tree becomes a master, just like him. The stories about the Undertaker are priceless. One of Jake's best angles was the funeral parlor segment, where he slammed the Undertaker's hand in the casket. Jake's stories will keep you hooked. Thank you Jake for your memories & contributions to the professional wrestling business. The absolute best to never win a world championship. Salute!!! #GOAT

I think I was 11 years old when Undertaker grabbed the chair from Jake and stopped Savage and Liz from getting smacked going thru the curtain. I remember saying, “OMG Undertaker turned into a good guy”. Back then you rarely saw behind the curtain things going on….some, not many like today. What a memorable moment. Really was jaw dropping, literally.

Yeah that was something new. That PPV was pretty good for a spontaneous show. There was only like 5 days to build up for it right? Survivor series was when it was first announced and back then it was actually on thanksgiving or the night before. I love those thanksgiving survivor series by the way. Takes me back.

The Undertaker wasn't really "no selling" everything. He just sold things differently. He'd snap back from punches. He didn't leap up immediately after hard bumps. The harder the offense, the more he'd sell. But he always sold in a way that protected the dead-man image.
@CarloisBuriedAlive
@CarloisBuriedAlive Жыл бұрын
His selling for the first few years was perfect because it still protected the other guy because you could see how impactful the move would be for the common person. He always helped to make the moves LOOK good despite getting up from it.

watched Jake and Undertaker wrestle live in a house show in Alaska. It was great. I think the undertaker got up from 5 DDT's which at the time a finisher was a finisher so you didn't see that kind of thing. Both performed amazingly, I'll never forget it.

Jake makes an excellent point in regards to the potential of a Taker/Jake tag team run. Those guys could have had a great run with the tag titles and could have had a great match/feud with the Legion of Doom.

Poor Jake Roberts. He got a hair transplant, fixed his teeth and fixed up his life, but he's still stuck with being hooked up to something that sounds like he constantly has the sniffles. I guess it's a small sacrifice for the 180 he did in his life, and I'm proud of him for that. But boy is the "sniffles" from what's hooked up to him annoying as hell.

I TOTALLY agree with Jake on Taker's streak ending. Mark didn't need too put over Brock he was ALREADY OVER...!!! So they took one of his most meaningful gimmicks/storylines and ruined it by having him lose to Lesnar. Simply ridiculous. As Jake stated if it had been against a guy that "NEEDED" the push too get over i could understand perfectly. But this was just not needed and honestly in my humble opinion it was a slap in the face too Mark. Especially, with how dedicated and loyal he was too Vince for all those years. It was a terrible, terrible, decision.

The first time I saw JAKE "THE SNAKE" ROBERTS was when he was in "GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING in ATLANTA GA, a long time ago 1983. Even though he was a heel he was still was one of my "ALL TIME FAVORITES". And I'm really proud of him seeking help from "D.D.P" For the DRUG HABIT he always had. I pray he stays clean. GOOD LUCK to you JAKE if you ever read this. I love that part close to the end where he talks about the "TRASH TALKING BIMBO + THE SNAKE". Even though I feel sorry for the BIMBO, but she had it coming because she started it, when she started throwing insults and acting so ARROGANTLY to them just because they are wrestlers. But she proved what JAKE said many years ago to be fact: "IF YOU PLAY WITH SNAKES LONG ENOUGH, SOONER OR LATER YOU WILL GET BIT".

At 39:34 mark in the video. Where Jake is talking about being on the road constantly. And away from family etc...This is why i'm a FIRM believer that wrestlers should have unions...!!! Or someone lobbying for their well being. I'm sure things are much more "lax" now then they were back in the early 90's. But Vince running his talent ragged was just not right PERIOD...!!! Many times people forget that these are human beings like the rest of us with feelings, emotions, and THEY HURT just like we do. It takes an EXTREMELY dedicated individual too be a part of this dirty business. And i say "dirty" because of what the business does to your physical and emotional well being. Just look at Jake now and the toll it's taking on his life. His addiction issues with drugs & alcohol, and other talent abusing somas for pain and sleeping it's unreal what they put their bodies through. All i can say is i have A TON of respect for these men and women. And i thank them for sacrificing as much as they do for our entertainment. They truly are a special kind of human being.

Yes for sure Jake Roberts and Undertaker tag team run would have been so awesome it would take either 2 top heels to stop the run or a feud starting with jake and taker. WWF/WWE missed the boat on Rick rude and Mr Perfect tag team run that could have had traction ahh oh well. YES ALSO THOUGHTWHY Jake vs Randy was not at wrestle mania the feud and build was done so well and so many still talk about it and is is something for white hot heels to study. A mania match of Jake ve randy then Jake ve taker the year later ohwell what could have been but atleast least the match happen just a shame it was not pushed more. Great story's always wanted to know about jake roberts time from 1990 to 1992 im WWE
