@@thephantom9227 2 sticks is the standard, in gaming and plenty of other applications. If 4 sticks is bad, 3 may be worse because no kit is using that amount, meaning you'd be mixing and matching different kits.

I think that is the problem bcz if you see the memory recomendation it says 5200mhz so anything above that is oc also 4 channels make the memory bandwith 2x higher and the new archicteture prob doesn't like that

i9s don't support quad channel; all consumer CPU platforms have dual channel controllers. That said, you should _never_ run more than two sticks of ram in a PC with a dual-channel memory controller. Especially considering how high the capacities are on DDR5 modules, there's literally no reason to. Anyone who needs more than 64GB of RAM is probably doing some specialized stuff and should be on HEDT. Motherboard manufacturers should just stop putting four DIMM slots on; all it does is dupe people who are trying to build "the most baller PC" into handicapping their memory speeds in exchange for a bunch of extra capacity they'll _never use._

thats just bullshit, until now with ddr5 and intels last two gens and some ryzen issues 4 channels was completly fine. its even been proven you get a average of 5% fps bump with 4 ram sticks of lower mem like 4x8 gb vs 2x16gb or even 1x32gb. Its just companies are not fixing this for whatever reason. Yes it might be true the future of ram will be a single or double ram. BUT even intel and ryzen claim they work with 4x ram. I think CAMM will honestly be the best thing to hit the industry in forevor tbh

Processor itself matter to the ram
@TheDude50447
@TheDude50447 Жыл бұрын
@@Izzy-vz6iu Im not sure if I understand you correctly. But yes what processor you use matters for the ram in many ways. Regular desktop hardware no matter which manufacturer only supports dual channel. Which means you get a significant performance boost by going from 1 to 2 sticks of ram and putting it in the right slots if you got 4 dimm slots. Going from 2 sticks to 4 also does something by doubling the memory ranks which was for example for Ryzen 3000 and 5000 a good way to improve your performance. Other cpus dont really care that much about ranks. Another factor is the memory controller which used to be on the northbridge but has been integrated into the cpu several years back. The quality of that memory controller dictates how fast you can operate your ram. The early ryzen chips were notorious for their bad memory controllers.

It needs to be the same serial number. So you can’t buy 2 sets of 2 you need to buy 1 set of 4 with same serial number for ddr5. Even then you take a risk on it not working. Right now it’s safer to use 2x32 ddr5 that’s usually enough and runs flawlessly 99% of the time.

It is not quad channel. The cpu and motherboard does not dupport quad channel. Look it up before commenting. Ddr5 splits the 64bit channel into 2x32 with 1 comand channel each.(or whatever they are called) And i belive with dual rank dimm's it can send and recive data to each rack on the dimm separate since they have 1 32bit sub channel each. Not sure if it is correct, but thats how i understood it from reading about it. If my understanding is incorrect pls let me know and provide something that backs it up like a link to spec documents or professionals explaining it etc.

Actually I dont see why to use more than 2 sticks.. just to get more fancy lights on the case? Bcs d performance difference from dual to quad channel is almost nothing

I don’t like ddr5 and am5 and corresponding intel architecture. The heat at stock speed, ddr5 timing issues, bad quality of ddr5 slots. It is a pass for me. I will wait ddr6 am6 or intel equivalent.

At this point you guys make too many: “our customer had problems after X months” maybe ur just putting together questionable build.

Bro start using a rubber glove or a pair of gloves which doesn't produce static electricity from your hand , that might save some more parts. Obviously I know this comment doesn't make sense with the problem out there🤏

Why would you use 4 sticks? I always thought 2 was the standard unless you're really pushing the hardware at something else

Are you checking the motherboard specs for ram compatibility or are you in linus mode?

There is no quad channel it's a two 4 slot dual channel system, should know as a pc specialist

if you take 4 dual rank modules & put them in those 4 slots it will act as quad rank….. so in reality there is quad channel. Do people normally use quad rank in a dual channel configuration ? Not really. most people use 2x16 dual rank or 4x8 single rank which acts like 2x16.

You were wrong on a lot of stuff here man. 1st of all, just because there are 4 sticks of RAM, that doesn't mean it's in quad channel. It's still dual channel with 4 sticks, it's just 2 sticks of RAM per channel, but it's still just dual channel. All you need to do is run 2 sticks only, or you can get 7400mhz DDR5 and just manually lower the speed to 6000mhz CL30

Ram so fast it rammed the speed limit of processing and went above quantum so it crashed.
