Years ago a Hotrod group of us were headed to an event about 250 miles away when one of our buddies car became disabled about 20 miles away from our destination and had to be trailered the rest of the way to the event, where we would repair it instead of on the side of the interstate. As we were unloading the car off the trailer some guys at the event came walking up and started mouthing off about the trailer Queen that had arrived, them not even knowing the circumstances. Point is there are smart asses around every corner that think they are so important that their thoughts and opinions really matter in this world so we just have to ignore them and and consider the source! I have found in my 68 years that there is a lot of jealousy in people that just can’t stand others having things that they can’t have or won’t have because of them being too damned lazy or stupid to obtain them. I THOUGHT YOU DID GREAT AND AM HAPPY YOU WERE ABLE TO OVERCOME ANY ADVERSITY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME IN THE PROCESS!! YA HOSER!! 😆👍😎

When I went I didn't care if they were trailered or not... Different people have different budgets. I met some who disliked the people who sent their cars to a shop to get done as apposed to wrenching on it themselves... But honestly if money were no issue... I see no problem with that especially if you are building a one off car. I talked to a guy there who had an old Dodge Magnum (sedan) and shoehorned a crate Viper engine under the hood. And this is not long after the Viper even came out. I think the engine alone at the time was something like $30k!

The experience you two had and the memories and what you took from the whole trip, is the sole point of hot rod power tour. This just became my favorite of all your videos, because it accurately sums up not only your Power Tour experience, but also the overall outlook both of you have on life in general! I'm 60 and traveled all over the world for the Army, so I figured I'm done traveling, just gave my 1964.5 Mustang convertible to my son and his children to enjoy, but now your positive energy has got me looking for something that I can Power Tour in the future with. You both always put a smile on so many peoples' faces with your upbeat outlook. Thank you so much for that.

Great outlook on it. Along with your "plan b"-ers there were also people who took damages to their cars (myself included but nowhere near as bad as others... Hornet) and it didn't let it stop them, they got it drivable and finished it out. The trip is all in what you make of it - if you pick apart every bad thing, it's going to be miserable, if go there to have fun and make the best of even the bad situations you'll have a blast. Was awesome to meet you (though briefly), glad you guys made it down and back home safe.

100% agree Dan. We saw a lot of upset folks complaining about the heat, price of fuel, the wait to get in at Nashville, etc. We decided before the trip started we were gonna have fun by being prepared and setting a budget. Understanding you only have control how you react to every situation and not whether it will happen is key. Most folks decide if they are gonna have a good time before they leave. Hope to see you guys next year, we are already planning our second HRPT now that we know what it’s all about! Key to success is keeping the navigator in line😄🏁🔧🤟

I agree a lot of us get used to the states being so lush and good. Always nice to have the Canadian perspective on it. I live in the western part of North Carolina and that's exactly why I have a hot rod, adventure motorcycle, and a 4x4. The topography and roads are a 4 season wonderland only improved by good company. The South is one big welcome mat. I think a lot of people's social skills are atrophied from 2 years of weirdness, so next time will be even better.

We can't control what mother nature throws at us (I live in the South but no one gets use to 100f heat), and seeing the 57 take a lap on the Atlanta motor speed way ...totally Cool! Meeting you and the other KZbinrs I met was far and away the best part of the trip and had me smiling for days after. All of you guys were just so down to earth, so appreciative of the support, it was truly fantastic… yes it was hot… yes charging $7.50 for a bottle of water in that heat was near criminal… but i had such a good time talking with he people, about their cars, their trip and experience… thats what makes power tour awesome… it’s the people.

Funny how haters never do any thing but complain. They are just a stick in the mud.

I have been watching all the Vids on the power tour ... and yours's too. And I think my ratty 77 Vette would be the car to take next year... The car is a mess but great drivetrain. Looks like a lot of fun, Glade, you made it with no major problems.

I watch all of your videos, but especially the ones when you were getting ready for the tour, but what is funny, I watched all of vice grip garage videos, getting ready for the tour also. The first tour video I saw, you and vicegrip had hooked up!

Thanks so much for this. I'm one of the admins of 2 of the larger FB groups. It's just sad to read the comments. Our plan was to drive our 64 Cyclone but it had engine problems so we did a plan B. A 1995 f150 that I literally just pulled out of the weeds to make a YT video. Well that died day 2. Me and my daughter rented a 14' uhaul to at least get us to Hover and then back home. In short, best time ever. Thanks buddy everyone needs to watch this

Excellent observations! As a US Citizen (since we both reside in North America lol) I can attest that the south gets more than its fair share of ridicule. Personally I love this whole region. People are very helpful abd friendly and there is a great old car/hot rod community. (you can tell where all the hot rod people are by the inversely perportional number of Biden stickers) Great video as usual and Love your channel! You and Dee rock on!

Very well said. You are 100% right. Your hot rod may not be someone else's hot rod... The key is enjoyment of the car and the hobby. Looking forward to the upcoming videos from the tour.

Glad you enjoyed the trip. Two of my brothers and me did a 5000 mile 2 week road trip in 1980 in a 63 pontiac. Some of my best memories. You forget all the bad stuff. Next years car should have air conditioning though.

I see a lot of negativity in comments on various videos. I don’t understand, if you don’t like it, don’t watch it. How difficult can it be?? I like your attitude Dan, do what you want and what you like. Also, looking forward to your content of the tour!! Saw a lot already from other KZbinrs!

The fact that you didn't run into any negative people at the event says everything. All the Negative Nellie's are stuck sitting on their couch at home, too bitter and afraid to get out and enjoy life. In the grand scheme of things, stupid comments on the internet quickly fade into obscurity, but having fun with cars can last a lifetime.

Was an awesome Tour I thought. It was hot as hell but well worth it. I was around y'all the whole time. Blue AMC Javelin. Everything moves so quick it's hard to take in everything and everyone. Especially with our 2 kids with us. Saw the same negative crap. Almost had to do plan B myself. Who cares what ya take. Just get there an contribute so it's there for future generations! See ya on the next one!

Watched your videos of the tour and the ones from Vice Grip Garage and they agreed with you...it was hot yes but they had a great time with some great people. Guess there will always be nitpickers.
