Same for me. I like CF because it makes me feel like I am doing the kind of hard training I did when I was young and played football. Then I got into the science and methodology of its proper programming. Your ideas and shared experience are very useful

We should add the word CIRCUIT to mixed modal training to describe the classic CF workouts. Standard fitness training (e.g. 40 min strength training with weights and calisthenics followed by 20 Min jogging on treadmill) is also mixed modal but it is not CF. CF is very much a modern version of old school circuit training that started in the 50s. But most people don't know the history of physical culture and think Glassman was the first to propose the combination of functional movements in rotation to improve muscular fitness whilst, at the same time, eliciting significant cardiorespiratory and metabolic stress. Two really good points here. Other than the occasional chipper, the "classic" kind of CF workout is very much a CIRCUIT. And yeah, a reinvention of a somewhat forgotten (at least here in the states) form of training that was used very successfully in the past.

I agree chad (if one can do it as prescribed) is more a monostructural modality. Definitely not weightlifting as I m not moving the load around. I have just artificially increased my body weight

Artificially increasing your bodyweight is the perfect way to explain how the added resistance works. It's not moving independent from your body but just along for the ride.
