De Campo 123 Original, the Core of my Eskrima Training

I absolutely love this art. I believe it should be a pillar art in the landscape of Filipino Martial Culture. It is streamlined and very effective. There are few arts that have this systems’ intense focus on elements such as recovery from power strikes, initiating from baiting positions, striking with full body weight behind your strikes… this art totally embraces John Watson’s SWAMP principal, which was popularized by the legendary Bob Kasper.
S- stay relaxed
W- weapon first
A- acceleration
M- move into the direction of the strike
P- plunge your body weight into the direction of the strike
