In the US here. Mid 60's. Street fighter and bouncer in my 20's. Organized Martial Arts training and competition in my 30's. Earned Black Belt at 41. Lots of legal responsibility these days compared to my younger days. Love how you train. Some of your hand techniques are the same as the ones I train daily. Got a heavy bag and some old tires screwed to the wall. Besides some resistance training, kettle bells and slam ball are my strength builders.
@JoelHuncar2 күн бұрын
Thank you, I think I need to be inspired by you and add more strength training to my routine. I really appreciate this comment. It does my heart good to know there are so many other men my age walking similar paths. The world may not be comfortable with us all the time, but I believe we are needed. Now more than ever.
@effeojnedib72082 күн бұрын
@@JoelHuncar As hard as you go on the bag (or the Bob), you'd gain a lot from kettle bells and slam balls, if you haven't already tried them. If you do kettle bells, I'd love to see the exercises of your choice. BTW, the hammer fist was one of my "go to's" back in the 70's and 80's. Once I started TKD, I learned a ton of other techniques. Now the hammer fist is one of my main tools again. lol The youngsters need us, whether they realize it now, or not.

Very Good Questions, Especially when it comes using lethal use of force. I think it's more of a choice whether or not use lethal use of force. However, you still have the right to defend yourself at all times. No matter what situation you're in. 0:44 You might say what you are about yourself, but it's always best to learn from someone whose much older and wiser. After so many years of martial art training, you become a master at it. And teach others what they need to learn in order to survive. That what it takes to become the old and wiser. Me, i'm only 41 and i still wanted to try out new things that i've never tried before. Always be grateful of who you are and what you've accomplished. Happy Thanksgiving Joel🤝🤝🤝🤝🥋🥋🥋🥋⚔⚔⚔⚔🦃🦃🦃🦃💯💯💯💯

Good questions. If you live in the U.S., I highly recommend OC Spray. Used it with good results as LEO (retired, 29 years service), but civilians in most (not all) states & cities can carry & use. Unfortunately, I understand it is illegal in Canada & UK, which is contrary to common sense. It’s not only safer for the defender, but even for the assailant because it’s effective but less injurious than even hands on. The assailant can be deterred by OC without being injured.
@JoelHuncar4 күн бұрын
@@benb5960 I agree. It would be nice if the Self Defence laws here had a little more common sense. You would be surprised with all the things we can buy here, however this does not mean you can carry them. If you even tell a police officer that you carried a tool for self defence you are incriminating yourself here. The laws are written to give a very broad set of rules that can be very much used against anyone who carries tools for personal protection. And yet, police response times in my community are up to an hour, depending on how spread out the police are in a very rural area. The fastest I’ve seen was 10 minutes. That is a long time to survive in a bad situation.
