I was in a garage band that played this. I like that the girl on the right added a cool little lead riff in there. Otherwise, my band played it the same, except that after the Gloria chorus, the next set of lyrics does have rhythm guitar behind it. Here, the girl on the six-string goes mostly silent, which is ok. But what I did, and I think what Them did was to do a C-shaped barre chord on about the 10th fret (not sure) and then to the 8th fret (or whatever). You only play the first four strings, with a somewhat slower pace. This gives the song a kind of jazzy flavor. If you’re lazy, you can do a D-shape and sound just the first three strings. This is the first time I’ve been able to suggest something to Dea Matrona. In every other respect, they are FAR above me. You know what I’d like to see is for one of them to try the lead solo to Louie, Louie. That is tough. I’ve only seen one person on KZbin do it right. And that was years after watching people mangle it. Myself, I can’t play guitar anymore (arthritis). But I never got the Louie solo right when I could play. I tried singing. I can do it much better now, but I started from way low down. Now I think I’m going to learn some music theory and try my hand at the hammered dulcimer. I think those are big in Ireland. Maybe Dea Matrona could advise me on that. Like do I go for it? Or is it too difficult?

I wish the sound engineers would turn up the vocals. Not hearing the benefit of their excellent harmonies. Instrumentally excellent. Great band unfortunately minus Mamie who couldn't make the tour because of college commitments. I think Mamie whose as beautiful as her older sister Mollie in the band is only around 16. Not forgetting Orlaith whose pretty sensational too!
@billyshears6642 жыл бұрын
Mamie was 16 in 2018 Orlaith and Mollie were both 19 at the time. Orlaith and Mollie are both 22 now. And Mamie was 19 when she left the band. That had to be a very sad day for Orlaith and Mollie. Now Dea Matrona are just the two birds Orlaith🎸and🎸Mollie. They need to find a talented bird drummer🥁 to fill Mamie’s place in the band. Peace 🕊

@@chrishorner2952 hi thanks for posting it. I think they are great. But I've always thought that their voices needed more work. I think that learning their craft on the street didn't help them to develop their voices. And I think that there might be something about working on the street that has led them to very fast delivery. As though they were afraid that if they paused at all their audience would walk away. I really feel that their next stage of development should be to slow down and develop more nuance in their arrangements. To learn how to use the microphone in a venue setting. Deepen and have more control of their voices. I wish them great success.
