Like literally the opening of the last "chorus" gave me goosebumps the first time I listened to it. Stoping all the background music to have Mingi's voice saying "Say my name" is-. That's one of the main reasons why this is one of my fav kpop songs ever, Ateez really know how to make amazing music, they never disappoint when it comes to releasing new music 💯 Pd. Also, I highly recommend you to listen to all of their discography, all their albums are a masterpiece.

The tags shown in the MV are name tags that their fans had made for them. The have 3 albums and they're all related to each other. All of their albums tell the story of how the became Ateez and it has to do with pirates as their debut MV was called "Pirate King". In this mv in a couple of scenes you can see a picture which was taken when shooting their first two mvs: Pirate King and Treasure. In one scene you can see the person who's sitting in front of Seonghwa taking off his mask but it turns out to actually be seonghwa himself which I understand as: there are two sides of Ateez one as in this MV and in Hala Hala (you should definitely react to it) and on brighter side as in wave but this is of cours my interpretation. These guys are amazing and you should react to all their music videos, they're all so good. As for the members: the person who starts the song is Hongjoong who is the leader. Mingi is the guy with the deep voice (my bias :')). Wooyoung the first person to sing: yes sir responding to that call. Seonghwa: the blond guy. San: the guy with red&black hair. Yeosang the guy in that box thingy. Jongho is the main vocal who goes really high and lastly Yunho the tall guy in a coat. Lmao I didn't know how to explain but you should maybe react to an unhelpful guide or smth.

I'm late but I want to explain this MV and ATEEZ's concept and story in general (from what I understood). So this is a prequel to "Pirate King" & "Treasure", this is the story how ATEEZ started their pirates journey to find their treasure. " Say My Name" and "Hala Hala" complete each other, you see the boys here talking about responding to a call, the little trumpet also represents the call and ATEEZ trying to figure out who the masked men are. At the end of the video they find out that it's actually them behind the mask, but a little different. What does ATEEZ with the masks represents? you find that out in "Hala Hala", they are the call, the desire and passion and love for music, they are the side of ATEEZ that's been living within them for years but only now did it awaken and " Hala Hala" stands for " Hearts awakened, live alive" That's how the two sides became on and started their journey as pirate kings going after their treasure (their debut) and then in "Illusion" when they are in the cave you see a silhouette of a man dressed in the "Hala Hala" outfit. A reminder maybe that they are in the right track, that their passion is there to show them the way. I hope that wasn't so confusing, every MV connects to the other, it's one big story and we're just at the beginning.

The story behind the MV is basically that, when they are sitting and looking to the people that are in front of them behind a glass, these people are themselves, the dark part of each of them (wearing black, a hat and a masc that covers their faces) . They try to, somehow, fight with they darkest selves that are controlling their normal selves, in order to be who they really are, and that's how they became ATEEZ, how they became 1 team, being themselves and fighting.

Yes, ATEEZ completely blew my mind when they debuted last year. They're fresh, experimental, and evolving - everything an artist should be in order to thrive. They're all phenomenal dancers, aka kqfellaz. The fandom is called "ATINY." First off, thank you for checking out ATEEZ, they have stolen my heart and I'm glad they are stealing others hearts as well. For "Say my name" the way it's been described by Hongjoong (the leader or aka the one with the mullet) is this.....this is the prequel to Treasure. It's the beginning, when they all come together as Pirates for the first time. The song is basically saying that all we have do to is call for them and they will come (which they did when fans aka Atiny asked for them to come to the U.S and they did 5 concerts even though they are rookies!!!!). I think that is also why there's a trumpet with their flag on it. The name tags are the tags made by fans, there is also a part of the song that says "I put on the name tag that I've always wanted". Also ATEEZ means A to Z teenagers or A TEEnager Z. The ones in black are them....a different side to them which you will see in HALA HALA ( you should definitely check it out). I love that all their music videos are connected somehow. Even Illusion (if you look closely you will see the black hat, the black mask and the HALA HALA individual in the cave) and WAVE. Here's a quick guide to who is who in the video. Hongjoong: the one with the fast rap and mullet. He's the leader of ATEEZ Mingi: the tall deep voice rapper with the long trench coat and lots of swag. Seongwha: the oldest of ATEEZ he's the one who is blond and gets the close up where the camera comes from his eye. He is also the one who watches as he unmasks himself. Wooyoung: the one wearing furs, standing on the table. He has like plantium blond hair in here. "yes sir, responding to that call" is one of his lines. Yunho: is the dark hair one sitting at the desk and, holding onto the compass. He's also the Tallest member. "my past is burning up now" is one of his lines. Yeosang: is the one in the crystal box. "we don't want no trouble, just moving forward". Jongho: is the main vocal...if there's a insane high note, that's him....he is also the youngest member. San: the one sitting in the room full of glass. Also if you go back and look when he looks in the mirror, their is someone in black looking back at him....which is really him. I love that in their video's that they leave you clues to look for and try to figure out. Again check out HALA HALA the MV. Ateez doesn't make songs. Ateez makes anthems. They've got to be front runner for rookie of the year. They've put out so many bangers for even their b sides. Promise and My Way are so effing good most groups would have just saved them for a title track later on. Ateez be like "nah, we'll have them as the last track of the album." Mingi is the one with the deep voice and Hongjoon is the one with the mega-swag and mullet and Jongho is the one with the really high notes, including the last one. Sorry about the rest, I'm still learning names too. Jongho is one of the best vocalists in K-pop. Watch their live, this dude is actually nuts. They're also some of the best dancers in K-pop. I personally would put it Seventeen, then NCT, SF9, and Ateez tied for 2nd, then the next tier with like BTS, EXO, Astro, etc Ateez is also one of the few groups I apply the "sick" tag to. Like, Seventeen and EXO and Astro are super polished and incredibly choreographed and in sync, but groups like Ateez and NCT and BTS are like, just so fucking dope.
