ILLUSION & WAVE follow their third EP of their treasure series. It all concludes into a story, you especially see the pirate theme during their first and third ep. Their second ep follows up with say my name and hala hala, with the latter being a prequel to say my name. At the end of the say my name mv you can also hear treasure. During the mv of illusion, you can see hints of their hala hala side. The reason for why there was two title tracks for their third EP is because they introduced a new concept: their fans being able to vote for the title track they wanted. The choices were between wave and illusion and they released different snippets of audio and choreography. WAVE won the voting, but they decided to release illusion as well because it was a side-title track. They usually have comebacks with dual title tracks, which they also did for their debut. There are eight members that range from the age of 21-18 in ateez and their fandom name is ATINY. Ateez stands for 'A TEEnager Z'. It also stands for “A to Z” meaning everyone, teenagers who are aiming to do everything they can enthusiastically, meanwhile ATINY stands for a combination of ATEEZ + DESTINY. The one who hit the really high note was Jongho! The maknae (born in 2000) and main vocalist of ATEEZ.

ATEEZ is an 8 member-group who debuted in October 2018 under KQ Entertainment. They were already kinda famous predebut for their dance covers (they are all amazing dancers!). This is their 3rd comeback, the first one had Pirate King and Treasure MVs, the second one had Say My Name and Hala Hala MVs (you should check out all 4 songs, they're bops). They're following this pirate concept since the debut. The leader is the rapper that opens up the song, Hongjoong, he also produces and helps writing all of their songs. The other rapper is Mingi, he's a phenomenal rapper. The one who hits the high note that impressed you is the maknae of the group, Jongho (minute 3:56 in the video). FUN FACT: Jongho is super strong, there are videos of him splitting in half an apple with his bare hands, and breaking a melon or something with his fist IT'S CRAZY. They are rookies but they already are really loved both in and outside of Korea. They've ended their tour recently, and they had stops ALL over the world (America, Europe,...) and they're only newbies that shows how famous they already are! Glad you enjoyed their music :)

If choreo is your thing, you are going to love ATEEZ. They are ALL dancers. Known as KQ Fellaz before debut they danced to American songs as well as covering bits of choreography from major Kpop groups. In one of their reality shows, they were given 24 hours to rehearse the choreo for EXO’s Growl first half and the second half create a new choreography and rehearse that. And they performed before some of the top choreographers in Korea. A polished version of that is included in a compilation of KQ Fellaz performance videos. Pirate King is spectacular. Filmed in the Sahara, all dancing. Treasure also filmed in Morocco, mostly dancing but more like a music video. Say My Name is probably their first proper MV, but it’s also got a lot of superb dancing. (And as always, watching them perform live you can see the full choreography.) HALA HALA is special. It was originally only a portion performance video but it was so popular they made a full length performance video that is dark and intense and gorgeous and the choreography is insane. And yes, we Atinys are going a bit mad with two MVs. Cannot wait to see live performances with full choreography. Also their showcase for this album was today. I have not yet watched it, but it will be full of dancing. Oh! You MUST, after watching regular Pirate King, watch the street busking-ish zombie Pirate King (with outfits and makeup). Argh. And I forgot Promise. They filmed a performance video of that while they were touring in Europe. Whew!

The reason ATEEZ released 2 music videos was because the title track was actually chosen by the fans, ATINY!! (ITS WAVE!) It also seems like a thing for ATEEZ to release 2. For their debut it was Treasure and Pirate King, for their first comeback it was Say My Name and HALA HALA, and now it is Wave and Illusion! so far ateez has always posted two music videos per comeback/debut, but i feel like wave and illusion was slightly different because they posted shortened clips of each song before their comeback in performance videos. anyway they debuted with treasure and pirate king, treasure got a mv and pirate king got a performance video. their first comeback had say my name as a title track (mv) and later they released a performance video for hala hala

In fact there was a voting to decide which of the 2 songs Wave or Illusion, they were going to perform on Korean music show as their title song. So thay also why there are a video for Wave and Illusion. But all the song were accepted so you can find videos of them performing all the song of the EP on KZbin. As you are a fan of Hip Hop I think you might love even more their 2 first EP that were really really good, this comeback is more dreamy-like, the 2 first EP are really badass. The group is composed of 8 members: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yeosang, Yunho, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jungho (who is the youngest and the main vocal, he is also the one who is hitting the high note you were wondering about). Yes, its weird for a group to comeback with two MVs but they are not the first one to do it. YG started the trend releasing 2 MVs for Big Bang, then 2ne1 Winner, IKON and Blackpink. Then Wanna One follow them, and after that SM did the same with TVXQ and few groups more. So it a thing just big companies do, but someway KQ is being doing the same even when they are so small but they are giving their all to ATEEZ, after all most of their songs are worthy to have a MV
