Keep on keeping on Pat...diabetes is not easy to manage. Remeber that all fruit (including raspberries) contain sugar in the form of fructose. yoghurt tends to be full of sugar- even if it's low fat and all cerials contain carbohydrates which turn to sugar and spike your blood sugar...the best food for breakfast is no sugar and low carbs...so plenty of protein - like eggs, bacon (the low salt one if you can get it...Aldi do a low salt one), Kippers, mushrooms...it is very hard to be good all the time...but the worst thing to have along with sugar is CARBOHYDRATES. Try looking at lables to see the carb content of things. Wholewheat pasta, wholemeal bread and wholegrain rice are much better than white versions of these if you ARE going to have some carbs as they are slower to be digested which means you get less of a spike. Hope that helps...I expect you have been told all this before!!!

She has tried over the years, but she just gets exasperated with it. She can't enjoy shopping and cooking anymore and just reverts to what she considers normal life.

@@trevorpat-lifeontherun I really don't blame her...as I said it is very hard to stick to what they advise completely...not much joy in that!!

Zero carbs for me. Before I had "insulin resistance" I also had Celiac disease, like Trevor. I'm off everything except protein and fat. No salt restriction tho.

@@trevorpat-lifeontherunempathy with dear Pat x. Having variations of food is so hard. The low sugar and sugar free cereals are more expensive. Even granola nothing is safe, I like porridge but still has sugar and the sugar free one not so nice. I can’t remember when I had golden syrup porridge. Problem is sugar free things have consequences….eg where’s the toilet lol. I’m about the same blood sugar as Pat at the moment, threatening me with insulin. No to insulin and no to statins! Let’s be rebels Pat…

@ My 2 adult children are both type 1 diabetcs so they have not choice about having insulin...the restrictive diet is hard though...

White vinegar is good for cleaning out your washer. Put a cup in the drum and set it off empty on a high temperature.

I miss the human connections instead of on line or text. Have you and Pat ever counted how many different jobs you had? Are you both wandering souls for jobs which can be good thing. My hubby had to drive our one son two hours other direction to see a surgeon about a work accident. They are thinking they may have to take the top third if his pinky finger off. I sure hope all goes well for him. I’m on pins and needles till I hear. We had a blizzard coming home yesterday and then a blizzard and wind during the night. My poor Dave having to drive two days in row with bad weather for our medical appointments. He better relax on Saturday. Have a lovely evening out. Take care.

I have had about 13 jobs, but when you consider I was a piano tuner for 35 years, you get a good idea that I never held down a job for long. Pat probably about 10, but she moved on because of circumstances beyond her control, because Pat is a very settled kind of person, and loves repetition. Ouch! hope all goes well Debbie.

We do a cycle of any empty washing machine with the old fashioned ' sodia crystals ' a bag cost about £1. It is a very good kitchen cleaner. For greasy areas etc. Love to listen to your accents when you tell your stories.

Dead from the neck up!!! Ha ha!!! I am sure you are not Trevor!!! I do wonder where all the sayings come from. I am always finding screws and coins in the washing machine, all from hubby's pockets when he chucks his trousers in to be washed!! Also dog hair from the dog blankets. I expect washing machine repair men find worse than that! See you tomorrow, bye!

Who knew doing laundry could turn into a treasure hunt? If only I could find some gold coins too! 😂 Thanks for the chuckle Mary.
