I'm sorry, but Ryan was better (in my opinion). His voice, his acting, HE HAD THE 'that works for me- WHOOP'. Disagree with me if you want, but Ryan was a better JD. The whole original off-broadway cast was better.

I COMPLETELY agree with you but to be completely fair to Barrett and Carrie, this song is a beautiful sadistic piece of work. It’s kind of like anything Jason Robert Brown does where at first you’re going “I could totally sing this so--what the actual fuck just happened? It’s like, ‘bridge who needs a bridge, just see if you can swim across the goddamn river and not drown.” But Barrett sounds more…raw. In Carrie’s defense she has a really good American accent, but it makes her sound nasally. Sorry for the essay. Love me some Barrett. And anyone that can sing this song (and seventeen) gets so many points with me. Nb I’m very much aware that this is not JRB. Just analyzing the sadistic nature of the writers and how we don’t approach how insanely difficult Heathers is.

Never gonna bash on people's opinions, I first saw the West End version and I admired Jamie's voice more :) he has a higher vocal range. Ryan also has an incredible voice, just personal nostalgia and preference made me like the emotion Jamie purveys more. Still gotta love Ryan tho :]

Not gonna lie, from the recordings I'd say the off-B'way cast has a slight edge, but watching them both, West End is far superior! Obv they're all incredibly talented, but Jamie and Carrie act the hell out of their roles and really make them their own.
