I'm glad DHP was a part of my epic road trip in 2019. I rode there on my motorcycle from Chincoteague Island, VA in 3 days. I had never seen a canyon before. I had never seen red rock, a desert, the Rockies, the Mississippi River, a natural arch and so many other things that I experienced for the first time on that trip. I parked at the visitor center and hiked the rim all the way up to the point, then walked the road back to my bike. It was my first time hiking at that altitude. Probably something that a smarter person wouldn't have done on their own, but that whole trip was like that. Moab is amazing and I will be back to share it with someone some day.

It’s awesome. I only had 2 days there which is nowhere near enough time, but managed to drive down the Shafer Trail and Potash Road to reach Thelma and Louise Point which is the famous ending scene to that movie. Very surreal in the best way possible. Also if you visit again, try and catch sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands. There’s nothing like it.

Is Dead Horse Point a good spot for stargazing? Driving in- would you sit to the right or left side of the road? I've been up there but only during the day. To anyone who has not yet experience this incredible place on earth- what are you waiting for? GO!

It's an International Dark Sky Park, so yes.

I went there once and I never saw a single dead horse. An awful lot of brain dead tourons though...
