I think it was a good game, obviously it has its flaws but I was super impressed with the gore and graphics, I think the game devs chose quality over quantity with this game. Every once in awhile I’ll hop on it just to mess around and kill zombies .

There are so many ways to kill the zombies! Yeah that screamer prevents me from reaching it but what if I threw something heavy at it? What if I drop kicked a nearby zed to shut it up? I do have my gun... Yet I could throw this ninja star... Or I could dash strike right into it! I freaking love it! I'm just starting the beach area and I only have a few real criticisms! (Why is fury mode more of raging rat mode? Flying kick is kinda really lame in comparison to drop kicking a dude... It'd be insane if you could bounce of zeds like that but hey maybe it's a card I've yet to unlock. You can't stand on floaties anymore. Big missed opportunity!)

And the "clunky" zombies are so much fun to dismember. Atleast be honest and give the gore system some credit. If you don't like the game, that's ok. Plenty of other bangers out there. It isn't your cup of tea, i guess.

I think a multiplayer survival mode would be great, something where you can really explore weapon upgrading/customization and fight larger hordes. Being able to build traps would be a cool feature as well. I’ve finished the game and there’s pretty much no reason for me to touch it ever again but I did enjoy the combat so pretty much any mode that brings something new would be nice

Soooo your telling me a dev had the ball's to go against the "live service" BS and just gave us a single player story driven game with an actual end point? Still really short, the quests weren’t THAT good. This game is missing a lot of things. But I will give credit to the gore, graphics, and performance but that doesn’t carry the game for me. And when they nerfed sliding it became too slow.

Yes, I'd like to play. I think the fighting was better in Dead Island 1 and Dying Light 1, those games feel more... slashy. I really like the hordes in Dying Light, but the hordes in Dead Island 2 are a pain in the ass. There's often not enough room for crowd control, and the damn auto-leveling kills the vibe, imho. But Dying Light 3 should be their top priority. After they make a good (please make it good) third chapter, they'll take all the mechanics, add some fun, and call it Dead Island 3.

My only problem is the lack of end game content. Luckily, in a few months or so, they’ll be releasing the last major DLC/update to the game. It’s supposedly going to feature something that I thought should’ve been in the game at launch, the interaction with other human fighters/survivors/hostile humans. This is something I’m looking forward to being an addition to the game. There will be a new location, addition features, idk if there’s gonna be an overhaul to combat and skills, but there will probably be a story and new weapons.

Pretty much seems like people bought Dead Island 2 thinking it would be a Dead Rising clone in First Person format. The game launched on PC and every other console out there except the Nintendo Switch so the features were scoped to the lowest denominator that all hardware can handle. So no vehicles, no hordes and limited size of the maps. Even then it's like 70GB. Statistically up to 20% of the player base finishes any game. The idea was to double down on everything that was fun in Dead Island to get the game released and some sales going.

I think it's a solid, fun, 7/10 sort of game. It's not something you're going to remember forever but if you want to have a bit of fun bashing zombie's heads in whilst playing through a fairly a light-hearted storyline, I'd recommend it. It's fun.

Honestly I think the need to have every game have some crazy thing to keep players in for 100s of hours is bad. It's fine to have an ending to a game without needing to make it a live service title that has loot boxes or something, because that's what usually happens.

I have played through dead island 2 three separate times now. You get a new save for each character and each one needs a different build. I'm having endless fun honestly. A big kicker for me is the fact you can quick join any public game and help people out. You can also save weapons in your stash for future saves. I enjoy helping out new players with the more "secretive" weapons that you have to search to find.

My main issue with this game is the guns, it is a zombie apocalypse, why am i pumping 10-20 rounds into a single deadhead, dying light one did guns amazing, most zoms take ine shot, only when you come across a freak like demolisher or a volatile

I’m about 14 hours in so far, played the eff out of the first one back in the day. No NG+ still is a bit gutting. But yeah I’m looking forward to finishing this one and go with each character. There’s plenty ways to kill them are you joking? Amount of environmental kills as well? And if your needing numbers hits then either your low level, got rubbish weapons or are built wrong. Fun game, plenty side quests, yeah should have had a lot of other main quests, ng+ and the like. Yes you should play it. On PS5 loading is seconds btw 🤷🏻‍♂️ at least we got it lol! I prefer the city setting over the island.

I just downloaded this game last night as I've just finished playing dying light 1 and was looking for another good zombie game. I haven't started playing it yet but I can already see that there's some similarities between the dying light zombies and dead island 2 zombies. I agree with your comment about hoards as my favourite zombie game is days gone. I really hope they do another one. I always play my games on hard difficultly for more of a challenge and you don't get through the game as quick and loved having to use stealth alot because one mistake and your toast. The hoards on days gone were hectic!! I hope dead island 2 lives up to the hype

When the game first came out, there was definitely some difficulty especially when it came to the money system. Where you had to literally decide on what to keep, what to scrap and what to sell. Whatever patches they put into this game it made the game easier and even more enjoyable.

is it just me or do the melee weapons feel to short ? I keep swinging and missing because im out of range it feels like i really have to be in arms reach for zombies to hit them. i played dying light before dead island 2 and ive never had any issues with the combat there it felt more natural. The next thing i immediately didn´t like was the bullet sponge thing and the enemys leveling up with me. It takes out all of the impact weapons have because zombies take so many hits. I kinda quit the game because the core combat system is unsatisfying and unfun

It feels too repetitive because all it needed for the exact same zombie that you’ve obliterated just a few second ago to respawn, is just a couple few steps away from the “spawn area”. I’ve also encountered like 3 of the exact same female zombie in a single fight 😂 having to fight three carbon copy of a triplets is not fun, immersion breaking in fact.

I was searching and searching for it because all the gates are already closed. i only noticed the second gate because zombies kept spawning behind me. there was no indicator where they came from they where just spawning in 4 at a time

I hope they make the third more like the first, but with impressive graphics as the second, i really not are that much into zombies, but the first was amazing due to how the game was, this one besides the gore and mechanics about killing zombies not get me that much into it, i love to drive vehicles as well, the hord stuff not make sense to me, if i want to kill hords i aim for left 4 dead or similar titles, i want zombies like this game, a little bit realistics without parts, rooted as hell and not well functioning living bodies, soo this kind of zombie are better, i just guess they could tweak a bit combat to not allow player to kick the same standard zombie 30 times on the head to kill it, make a finish move when it is down or something to erase a single target when no other can hurt you for sure

Trust me the Zombies Turn really easy you Just need to learn to use your wapons the right way. For example there is wapons to Pop heads with and wapons to Cut limbs with. Just read the descriptions and use the right wapons style for your Charakter. Bruno for example you want to Always aim for the limbs or for the head because thats a critical Hit, but only with certain wapons. And in endgame you can Just so whatever because youre going to be OP.

I just played it as a fan of dead island 1 and i must say i havent had such a fun in ages. The game was a little hard at the beginning, but i kept going and it turned easier and easier while i learned to use my wapons and skills right. Anyhow, for me now one of the best zombie slasher games ever played. Also the open world addiction some people have these days.. i personally find it quite refreshing how they handled it in a more compact way. Also i disagree on playing the old titel over thisone, dead island 2 is by far better while they stayed loyal to what they been 10 years ago without trying to be something diferent.

The game does have its bugs but they are usually just objects clipping I’ve only encountered 1 game breaking bug and that was probably because they were to many things going on at once and my console is old. Also I don’t really have problems with op zombos I was never really under leveled they almost never had red on their level besides from the beginning and I did not need to beat the ever loving shit outa normal zombies to kill ‘em they are pretty easy to kill the only difficulty fighting was getting swarmed or being in a enclosed space with like 5

It feels like they decided to make all the zombies into tanks, just so they could display the gore all up front. If they just realized the novelty wore off months ago and nerfs the zombies a bit, it seems like it'd give the game a full second wind.

I really feel like dead island 1 was a love letter to everyone that was a zombie fan and I feel like dead island 2 fell a little bit short compared to the new world that the first game gave us it could be such a MONUMENTAL STAPLE to zombie games but I do feel like it’s due for a FAT dlc

I loved the game love love loved it when it comes to fighting harder zombies the special ones have certain weapons that will do more damage like the screamer is weak to blunt weapons cuz it says it's frail as a bird The Crushers are weak to bleed damage because who the hell knows but overall the zombies with the Stars we're always going to be hard no matter what you did just keep grinding up and everything will eventually fold like a piece of paper

You cant have hordes of zombies with this level of detail on each zombie, you would need a 4090 just to hit 60fps

heres my issue. I pre-ordered the game. played tf out of it, beat everything basically 100%'ed the game. i go to play the game again and it claims i dont own the game when i launch it. i attempt to just re-download the game and it was completely removed from my library and i had no purchase history or anything. it just completely vanished. i tried to figure out what happened and get help. but they wouldn't do anything due to the fact that this account was gifted to me many years ago. so i dropped close to $100 dollars just for the game to vanish and get no help.
