For anyone wondering: this song's tone is a fender super & echoplex. The fender had a gain boost pedal in front, he later modded it to add a tube. Any fender-ish amp & tape delay will get you in the ballpark. He usually used a 57 or 421. Dead Kennedys are a very surf-inspired band

Was gona say that too ..fender twin reverb does it ..also any lead guitar with an active circuit like a Westone Thunder 1a thru a cheap 30w Crate reverb also replicates the thrash sound perfectly

I think the repeats are set slightly faster than the song tempo in the original which gives it that really tense feel (deliberate no doubt)
