What are your thoughts on Eastern Hills Mall, and what do you think it's future holds?

The Mall will be closing at the end of this year. Tenants were notified yesterday ( 7-18-23 ) that Mall management is terminating leases for all stores without outside access. So, while places like Duffs, JC Penny and Orvis might last a while longer, Mall walking the halls, and the remaining stores that lined them will be gone.

I live right nearby this mall, been going to it all my life (25 years now) and yeah I've seen just about everything come and go from this place. Great video!

Back in the mid1980s my friends an I would drive from Toronto on a Saturday afternoon, get a cheap hotel room get wings and drink on Saturday night. Sunday would start with the Grand Slam at Denny's on Delaware and then hit Transit Road to shop. EHM was a destination because there was a Silo (electronics store) and a massive drug store called Pete & Larry's nearby

That centercourt is BEAUTIFUL. Easily one of the best I've seen. I love everything about it. It is a shame that movie theater took the neon sign with it, but at least you got footage of it. Great video, and congratulations on hitting 2,000!

As a side note- Up until 5 years or so ago, there was quite a mall walking tradition going on here. The mall personnel kept a log book in the main court, that the mall walkers signed in with, each time they walked. After you walked a certain grand total mile distance, the mall gave you a "mall walking gift". I got a nice quality insulated plastic with lid coffee mug as the free gift at the time. You kinda knew the lifestyle center plan was a news generated pipe dream when they said it had a 20 year projected completion date. It's a wonder how the Orvis store survived to this very day, considering there's never anyone in that store. It must be being "carried" by it's other profitable locations. Thanks for the video. The history is fascinating.

Wow, this sure brings back great memories. Being from Canada, we found Eastern Hills Mall, and boulevard mall just offered more shopping options. I distinctly remember going there one Saturday, and they had a car show going on inside this mall ! just Fantastic ! We were collecting die-cast cars, and places like this had more to choose from. Then, off to Honey's for Wing's & beer on Pine Street to finish off our adventure. Thank you for this great video, guys !

My Dad did the plumbing in the 80's for the Friendly's Ice Cream Restaurant there. There were a few of those in the suburbs, they had good fishamajig sandwiches and giant ice cream sundaes.

I got one of my cats at this mall about a year ago! There are 2 different pet stores here but we got him from the shelter at the very end of the mall (ten lives club) I hope that they find a place for all of the kitties and the other animals before 2024

Wow, it’s so empty. I worked at Kinney Shoes in the early 1990s. I lived in Clarence in the early 2000s and went to the mall all the time. Wasn’t there a Dave and Busters there?

For me personally this mall started going downhill when they lost Macy's in 2016 don't get me wrong Niagara Emporium is really cool but I have a certain nostalgia for this mall from the 90's up to the mid 2010's I also miss Bon-Ton.

I was there back in April and it was pretty empty except for one or two stores. Maybe I just have trouble remembering clearly but I know that it was definitely much more empty than it was back when I was little.
