Hi I used to work in this mall from 1996 to 1997. I was a manager for Northern Reflections. The mall was kinda dead back then too but we had a loyal customer base and we're always steady. I had to walk in a fashion show in fall 96 with clothes borrowed from the Jimmy Stewart museum in the center court I remember there were tons of people there that day. Thanks for the video!

It’s 1983. You’re a grade school kid in the early part of summer. You’re home for the evening having played outside all day, just had dinner and the AC+fans are running, dad turns on the TV and the HBO feature presentation comes on… in your impressionable young mind, this is not just a movie night: it’s an event. Obviously, your intro triggers something deeply sentimental, and not just for myself by a long shot. Very nicely done Anthony, and perfectly on brand! 👌😎 By the way, I did get the notification; I look forward to your latest release as much as 40-years-younger me looks forward to tonight’s Feature Presentation.

My boyfriend and I randomly happened upon this mall while we were in Pennsylvania looking for abandoned places, dying and dead malls. We just so happened to have stayed in Indiana for a night, and the next morning we learned about a mall that was right near our hotel. This was one of my favorite out of the four malls we visited while in the state.

That mall brings back memories. I attended IUP just down the road '92-'97. At the time, there was a second mall down the road (which has since been converted into a plaza), it used to be the "Regency Mall", but the Indiana mall was the "upscale" mall in that community as well as surrounding towns. It had the anchors you'd expect.. K-Mart, Sears, Penny's... I'm glad to see the Theater is still there. Thanks for filming it once again for an update. After what happened to Century III and so many others.... there aren't many left. Even Harrisburg (East) mall is gone, Camp Hill (Mall) has returned to merely a plaza, and Capital City Mall seems like it's dying a slow death.
@twilightman28163 ай бұрын
The Regency Mall had "Hills" as its anchor store. Hills went bankrupt around 1991, so it was already collapsing around your time. My sister told me that a "Giant" food store occupied the Hills space afterward, but I'm not sure if it is still there or not.

Man, the HBO opener... They never topped that. I've always loved that in its variations. These videos are experiences in their own right. I still love the vaporwave music with them. It is now kind of nostalgic for the pre-pandemic years. Imagine that! I'm grateful for these, but I do hope the world starts getting better so that nostalgia won't be so necessary to just feel good. In the meantime, maybe I'll go check out some old Double Mint commercials. Remember the Double Mint Twins?

Cant phathom how the mall can even keep the lights on? So very sad knowing as kids in westdale gardens at 294/roosevelt road growing up riding bikes to yorktown mall or growing up at a young age going to golblats and the hillside mall which had woolworths, old style counter and seating at counter and some booths. Astroids and pacman there and can still remember the smell. Santa at christmas dressed in his finest hand sewn suit on . Soo many memories. So sad i cant wakup from a dream and still be a kid. Would have gone a whole different route.

Hello, I've owned a couple channels with my time on youtube, (One having around 30k subscribers) and I will tell you that subs after a while just go inactive and stop watching content or forget they're subscribed to you. Sad way to put it I know but that's how it is. Another thing I'd like to mention is you don't use search term tags in your youtube background/analytics. I highly suggest downloading socialblade as an add on so you can see what other creators in your niche are putting in their tags and see if that helps. Also, I suggest giving background information on the malls you visit even if you've already covered them once or twice. Just so it gives something for the viewers to stay hooked as they watch your video.

I shopped in this mall different times in the past but it has been a while ago. It was a really nice mall. It is sad to see many places empty. It has a lot more stores open than most malls. I hope that most of the stores be able to keep their heads above water and keep the mall open. Good video. I did get a notification about this video but I haven't gotten many about other videos though. I just rechecked to make more sure that my all notifications was still on. Thank you for sharing another amazing video.

I live like a mile from this mall. I don’t stroll around there much, but I do hit the JCPenney when I want clothing that’s a bit nicer than Wal-Mart. Got my driver’s license renewed there this spring. It does seem to somehow be surviving on. Yes, I’m sure the rent is reasonable, and that helps.

Vegas Vacation is prime cinema and I hope your video about The Mirage will reflect that. Also, when you're walking around any mall, does this quote run rampant in your head: "I need to go someplace where a man can think." "Oh, I wouldn't do that here, Ace. The stalls are awfully dirty, and...they're backed up all the time."

I remember when this mall had an Orange Julius, York SteakHouse and a French Fry Factory. The golden age of the American mall. Good idea in theory, but with ultra capitalists running the show, most of those spaces are unaffordable by most people who could set up a reasonably profitable business. I worked with someone in that area who talked to the Indiana mall management team there (20+ years ago) to setup a PC repair shop in the mall. The cost was thousands a month, plus a hefty percentage of your profits thanks to all the foot traffic they bring you. If these spaces were nationalized by the gov, then they could be repaired and cheaply rented out to encourage more growth. There's no need for someone to make a killing on rent at these locations simply because they are convenient for citizens to gather at.

What a beautiful mall and fountain, wish I had visited it when I lived in the mountains in the 90's. I haven't heard the HBO theme in so long. It's getting outer space irritating when I have to go through other comments just to comment 😠.

I always get notified of your videos in the subscriptions tab. I would think that everyone else would also be notified that way. I think the real problem is that either people don’t check their subscriptions on a regular basis, or they don’t watch everything that’s being offered from their subscriptions. This would be especially true if they’re subscribed to a lot of channels. Plus, people are busy, and KZbin is not their priority. There’s really nothing you can do to change any of this-it’s all down to people’s choice. But don’t stop putting out videos just because of these people, for then you would be letting down your core audience that do regularly watch you!!!
