Which style of blocking do you favour? How do you feel about your defense in DOA6?

I came from tekken so I pull the stick to 4 and 6 but ill try the dedicated button after ur recommendation. Thanks

I’ve been playing DOA on and off since the original Xbox. I can say I definitely haven’t been blocking as much as I should. Customizing the guard to be a shoulder button is a game changer. Thank you!

Excellent video! I think the massive frame disadvantage on block is the reason why DOA feels so brutal to newcomers (myself included). I almost never watch video tutorials when I learn new games, but in DOA6 I genuinely feel like I can't do shit without having some outside information. Thank you so much!

I feel like I don't block enough in this game lol, new to the series.

It's all good, you'll eventually will learn to block. Because if you don't block enough, you'll eventually start to get rekted by your opponents.

I've been playing for years on and off and it took a while for me to start blocking. I relied too much on holds, which did the job for me, but it's risky. I feel like it's better to default to blocking, which then leaves your opponent open to punishment if you react quick enough. For holds, those are convenient when your opponent is predictable or they follow through on a combo that misses or gets blocked.

This is sooo different to DOA 1, 2 & 3 (that’s the last DOA set of games I had played), the counter/hold is not the same anymore, it kinda feels like VF, that’s a good thing, just something I have to get used too. I do love doing taunts. Great video 👍🏾
@ForceofNature992 жыл бұрын
No problem dude! Yeah, DOA5 & DOA6 are a lot deeper than DOA1-3. Very complex games! Good luck! Ayane's taunts are great!😏

@@ForceofNature99 I’m a Hitomi player, love doing your taunts, it’s also great when other players taunt back laugh out loud.

My defence is atrocious I either block too much and my grappler loving buddy just loves to help himself to half my life bar damn Tina 😢 or I let go to early and get lit up by delayed strings. I must be a masochist to keep playing😱

You can also hold back on the d-pad/left stick to block. Probably just that I'm used to other fighting games, but I occasionally use it in a pinch.
@ForceofNature993 жыл бұрын
Yes it's very handy. Makes it similar to blocking in Tekken.

if it not so inconvenient,could you add subtitle next time?cause English is not my mother tongue,but i really want to imporve my DOA skill.i can't find other guide only you DID this.
@ForceofNature994 жыл бұрын
Hmm... Have you tried the [cc] captions? They translate my spoken words somewhat haha. I'd need someone to translate my videos for proper subtitles though!

Really late to the video, but, you mention advantage a number of times. What is that?
@ForceofNature99 Жыл бұрын
Advantage is the situation where one fighter can act over the other as opposed to neutral where neither fighter has priority.

Since they changed the Direction for the Middle Kick Counter in DOA 4, the Middle Counters were too risky for me and i'm forced to block most of the Time... (´Д`)

I just press square button to block, but maybe I should try to put the block button to a shoulder button and see how it works for me.

Not having three or four attacking buttons and having multiple different holds to keep in mind is what truly screws me in this game since I'm so use to SC6 and Tekken.
@ForceofNature994 жыл бұрын
Have you played any VF? DOA is similar to that with its control scheme and some mechanics.

@@ForceofNature99 I had only ever played LR when I had heard 6 was already on the way, so I'm still very fresh to this style of fighters. xD

Can you explain how Throw is a macro?
@ForceofNature994 жыл бұрын
Throw is "H+P". A macro is a combination of buttons such as "P+K" or "H+P+K" for example.

Use and arcade stick. So much easier to access all buttons.
