Interesting seeing this video on as I followed what was going on in the UK charts with some interest right through the late bit of the 70s,the 80s and on into the 90s. I'm currently on a long-slow,nostalgic journey through the music and a few other things of the 80s from start to finish, and I must have heard this one back when it came out but didn't remember it at first; perhaps tha's because it arrived in a deluge of new singles in mid-through-late January 1987. Before this he/they had Brand New Lover, which I rate as one of Dead or Alive's catchiest three singles together with You Spin Me Round (Like a Record) and In Too Deep. I first heard of Dead or Alive around the very early 80s when they were appearing with a multitude of other bands at some festival or other and Capital Radio were advertising it; however,I don't think it was until the mid-80s that I started hearing their music.

The 70s had There's a Ghost in My House by R Dean Taylor, and the 80s had this. Though a chart hit (in the UK) in January/February in 1987,it's probably only a matter of time before it finds its way into a few Hallowe'en playlists.

Hedley Fester Never got that One Hit Wonder thing told in the papers. He had so many hits and was a regular on Top of the Pops for years. And he stayed massive in Japan until at least the late 1990s.
