Classic horror film. David Cronenberg really matured as a storyteller and filmmaker, moving from intelligent body horror to psychological body horror with this film. Jeremy Irons is incredible in the dual role.

I've seen A LOT of movies, but 32 years after it's release, this is STILL the creepiest movie I've ever seen. Thank God I have a penis. If I was a woman, I wouldn't have seen a gynecologist in 32 years. Jeremy Irons performance(s) is/are the greatest in the history of film imo. And I'm not even exaggerating. It's criminal that this film is, for the most part a forgotten film.

I don't know how that would work. Many times in the film both of them are seen together and addressed seperately by many people. Not to mention someone who has mental issues like a split personality would never be given a position of responsibility at a major medical facility. Funny enough, when I first saw this movie I thought that might be the angle they were going for but as the film went on it was very apparent they really was two of them. Not to mention it's based on a true story.
