Another interesting thing I found in the game is that if you run out of ammo Issac will curse. The curse varies from time to time and that is super cool to find. Also amazing work with the video. Very concise and easily understood with all the details laid out. You got a sub from me.

Elizabeth Cross was in the original - Only she's a corpse in chapter 6: Environmental Hazard. The only voice lines she has are from Audio Logs if I remember correctly.

I agree! DS2 only needs a remaster, this remake works perfectly into the original sequel But DS3, now that's something else entirely, the general concept works fine (Brethren Moons are really cool, it's just.... Everything else, including that cliffhanger at the end)

For the "nemesis" enemy (hunter in the game) they added an entire side quest for lore on it. and its appearances are slightly different from the original. Its boss fight is also different in that there will be constant hordes of necromorphs instead of the hunter and some twitchers.

I agree, this remake improves on the original in every way, the story and side missions rock, and Nicole’s death at the end actually pulled on my emotions unlike the original. This remake is officially MY version of Dead Space and I doubt I’ll ever play the original again. Thanks EA Motive! GOTY 2023 so far.

I loved the original 2 games and didn't think they needed remakes, except for the third game. I would have preferred the original voice cast, but all in all, it is a great remake. Awesome review, and will definitely be checking your channel out.

Oh no I don't mind at all. I have a lot of motivation and inspiration from a lot of content creators and videos. Some major ones are the Act Man, Nakey Jakey, YMS, B-Mask, Raycevick, Shammy, and a lot of other creators. I also just love long form analysis videos for video games and other forms of entertainment, and I have a strong love for video editing because I think it's really fun to do.

In the og dead space I never looked at my logs or opened my map, the map was awful to look at and I just never used the other option other than inventory I had a lot of fun playing it that way. But the turret sections were absolutely awful I took me 2 hours to complete the asteroid one

Yeah I remember the map in the OG being really bad too but it's way better in the remake since it's easier to navigate and it doesn't give me eye sores while looking at it lol. And yeah I agree with the turret sections since they absolutely aged terribly.

I thought it was funny when this series began The first game alone clowned all survival horror games ever been made up to that point. Tis a hefty opinion I'm sure, but I stand by it 1000% Dead space is survival horror at its very best and this remake is indeed perfect. Now they have to do the other two. And maybe just f***** maybe it will finally lead to the 4th game. I'm such a Huge fan that I have made the electric razor I use to shave my balls look like a plasma cutter..

It’s as good as most game remakes. But perfect? Eh, it has flaws. Though none of them are necessarily bad as much as a weird choice here or there. The best remake is still Resident Evil on GameCube.

When I mean by "Perfect Remake" I don't mean it being a perfect game overall (nothing is really perfect if we're being technical here) but instead I'm saying that the things they changed and added are really great while also being very faithful to the original game by keeping a lot of things that worked from the OG into the remake. You pointed out RE1 remake and that is a great example too. It changed and added things that are great but also was really faithful to the original game by keeping a lot aspects from the OG to the remake. Those aspects within remakes of video games are in my mind what makes up a perfect remake. Also I said it's "perfect" not "the best" because Resident Evil 1 and 2 are perfect remakes as well and I just personally think that Dead Space is up there with those games when it comes to being perfect remakes. Apologies if this comment seemed long but I just wanted to clarify what I mean when I say a game is a perfect remake lol.

Be careful using game tracks btw, that Twinkle Twinkle little star song and even the theme from Manhunt get copyright striked by companies that didn’t make them. Eh. I don't know man. I compared the two when it came to the opening scenes and the remake is still better in terms of lighting and shadows. In the OG it was too bright for my taste but in the remake it wasn't too bright but also wasn't too dark. It was a nice balance with the sun rays coming from the sun in the distance and the shadows from the Ishimura and planet debris. If you liked the lighting in OG Dead Space more then that's perfectly fine but to me the lighting is just superior in the remake.

not a perfect remake by any means. clearing the asteroids in chapter 7 had a massive visual downgrade from 2008, the plasma cutter sound is wrong, they ruined the nicole jump scare ending and butchered the sound design of npc suicides, the ripper destroys the flow of gameplay considering you get it in chapter 2/3 and it has way too good of an ammo economy, and i have many more issues with the aesthetics/scenes they changed.i’m not saying the game is bad, but it’s far from a perfect remake in my eyes. the gameplay carries it just because it’s ds2 but as someone who grew up playing DS1 and the franchise as a whole, im haunted by visions of what could have been. i really hope they give us a DLC similar to severed in ds2 but under the premise of being a soldier on the Valor.

I never played FF7 Remake so I don't have much ground to say on that but saying Dead Space Remake didn't introduce enough new things is just baffling to me. They introduced the circuit breakers, expanded the lore and story in significant and small ways, the level design has some small and at some points big changes, the Ishimura is more connected this time around so it feel more Metroidvania than linear game design, they expanded upon the characters, and they're just so many other new things that they changed or added in the remake which I touched upon in the video.
