Here's a fun story, back in Highschool, we had to do a project where we had to advertise a product that's either for an object we own or a product that just doesn't exist. Since I was such a Dead Space fanboy in my high school years, I of course decided to make an advertisement for the Plasma cutter, I made a whole presentation, talking about how useful it is for mining and even said that it's used by the "famous engineer" Isaac Clarke, I also made a small poster for it as well. So in the end, Dead Space helped make a project very fun to do and helped me get a good grade as well.

The thing i like about the Majority of "Weapons" in this game is that...they are just simply Space Tools to Deal with Fixing Machines and Asteriod Mineral cleaning and farming. Like especially the Plasma Cutter,It's literally how a Crowbar is to Gordon Freeman that is to Issac Clark or the Gravity Gun and kinesis module. Both Protagonists uses Tools as Convenient and Deadly weapons and This is honestly my favorite video game trope.
@DJWeapon83 жыл бұрын
With that said. Their nature as tools would lend to really cool environmental interaction and puzzle mechanics in either the remake or a sequel. Using the severing tools (plasma cutter, ripper, line gun) to cut down objects and debris. Using impaling tools (rivet gun, javelin, kinesis impalement) to pin objects onto surfaces. Using explosive tools (pulse rifle secondary fire, line gun secondary fire, flamer secondary fire, force gun, detonator, contact beam) to blow away heavier debris and obstructions too heavy for kinesis. Using the javelin's secondary fire to provide temporary power to a machine. Using the flamer to melt slag and ice off of machinery.

I just want to imagine the game, where you are playing for 3-4 citizens of Aegis 7 or Sprawl, wielding plasma cutters: one is cargo pilot, second is station engineer, third is some security officer, but he/she uses some sort of pistol, the 4rd one is some unitologist-programmer, but not brainwashed. And they're trying to survive to flee off that place to any planet where's quite. They use all kind of tools: Ripper/Contact beam/Plasma cutter/Pulse rifle/Flamethrower/Arc Wielder/Pistols/Detonator or Javelin gun/Rivet gun as well (but its charge/ammo is also limited). Thank you for such informative video! (If you don't to read, head to the end of the commentary to get the idea of game concept, signed with *) I wish to see something similar to Extraction, but on any kind of platform, with gameplay like in 1&2 parts of Dead Space, but characters are not supersoldiers, and their abilities are very weak: like, for example, the Engineer can use most of tools, but suffers with firearms, pilot can use standard pistols/cutters, but can't handle tools like Ripper/Contact Beam. Officer just doesn't know how to use tools (except for cutters), but he's best at firearms. Unitologist can use all weapons, but suffers with tools. And when you handle the Ripper - you have to hold from hips, not aiming like some pistol/rifle, tracking the bluebeam, just like Isaac did in DS1 (such weapons as Forcegun, Flamethrower, Ripper, Contact Beam). Because these weapons must be overall heavy, you can't just take it and aim like normal firearm. But it also must be very tense, like, QTE with necromorps when you're caught and in the fatal threat of being executed. Such tension was in DS2 Multiplayer, where that situation cost a lot of humans, and was a real prey for necromorphs. The lore of Dead Space can combine the best horror/action sequences, it just must be combined in equal dosage. Helping allies is critical, as well as weapon management for each character for the highest effect of survivability. Just imagine such game, it would be so amazing! Each weapon would have its own matter for each character, and visuals as well. The only problem you may get is the vacuum zone: there must be some sequences of going through it by using part-time suits, or making characters suits more vulnerable. Like, cargo pilot cannot stand more than 2-3 hits from necromorph, but he/she is mobile, can evade/dash some attacks, same goes for unitologist. Engineer can hold up to 3-4 attacks, but his mobility is less progressive. Officer can hold 3 attacks, and his mobility is good, but he's also weak against necromorphs. I mean the thing is: each character is not a supersoldier, like was mentioned before, but a human, that has his own fears of being turned into necromorph or getting killed by government military forces/possessed unitologists. Such atmosphere was shown great in Extraction, by the way. I'd say it would be the best multiplayer coop-like sequence of walkthroughs. Yes it'll lack of horror partly, but will save the atmosphere. I think this game will come out, someday. It'll worth of playing, if scenario, characters personalities, lore will be written outstandingly. I would even say it could be the best space horror-action survival game, where your enemy is strong, and you have to rely not only on yourself, but your team as well. Each character will learn how to stand together, and survive or die together. The death of each character will cause some serious concenquences, like the impossibility/difficulty of multiple routes to designated point, because programmer was slashed and he/she was the only one who could hack the door fast, while engineer does it longer, or cargo pilot was out of oxygen and died in space but was the only person who could drive some cargo platforms easy, while officer/engineer would do that much longer, and the consequence is - more ammo spent, more wounds, less changes to make it out alive. And the weapons - loosing one weapon will cause the inablity to fight, so you'll have to search for a new tool/weapon, or asking the ally to use his/her gun when the danger is on your side. The key side - is the movability of each character. They must feel... Alive, I would say. For better horror/action experience. There's no chance to stand against the creatures with bare hands - you will die instantly. Yet you can also die with weapon too. You can loose your weapon if creature pushed you away, if you decided to use it as melee weapon, if you gave it to another character but case written earlier is happened. Even fully armed person can be useless, if other team members are playing like decoys, but sometimes, such tactics might save the whole squad. * In short: imagine DS1/DSE combined with some game on variations of choices (like Massive Games projects) - you'll receive just the exact game I fantasize about. With weapon animations like was in DS1 preferably.

@@TheBritishRunner One thing for sure is that the 935 Bonder Rivet Gun is made by Schofield Tools (as you stated in the video) while the 711-MarkCL Rivet Gun was made by Timson Tools. While yes they are very similar due to sharing the same purpose, as you stated the secondary fire modes are vastly different. The other difference is the power and damage of the rivet. The Schofield's Bonder Rivet Gun is more powerful as the rivets are able to sever a limb by one shot (against standard Necromorphs) albeit with a slower firing rate. While the Timson's MarkCL Rivet Gun fires much weaker rivets (seriously even when upgraded max the damage is pretty pathetic) but with a much faster firing rate. My only conclusion to the difference in terms of damage and firing rate from both Rivet Guns is that the Schofield's Bonder Rivet Gun is made for more heavy duty line of work as it's rivets are able to penetrate more tougher and denser material while the Timson's MarkCL Rivet Gun was meant for less heavier work as its rivets aren't able to penetrate tougher materials as effectively (being more like a modern nail gun).

Maybe when the remake....wouldent count on expanded anything. I'm guna bet it's a 6 hr campaign.. if you stop to pause it and eat a lunch,use the toilet, let the dog out, mow the lawn.

I don't know about you guys but this may be the last chance for a new Dead Space game, if you guys really want a Dead Space 4 or even another Dead Space game, this is probably your last chance, so try to support it! Buy it digital buy it pre release etc or even share this video to everyone, I know some of you hate EA for what they did, but I really want a Dead Space 4 even if the game is not good enough, I know everyone can help even by sharing the video.

For what it’s worth, I think I agree with you. I’m still using the plasma cutter and I don’t know what to upgrade after that lol

I pretty much only use the plasma cutter. But I keep the plasma cutter, force gun, contact beam, and pulse rifle on me in the first game. In the second one I think it was the plasma cutter, force gun, contact beam, and rivet gun. I liked the plentiful ammo for the rivet gun.

I'm currently in the middle of a New Game+ Plasma Cutter only playthrough on the Remake.
