It always bothered me that humanity in the dead space universe never tarted up their vessels a little to offset the overall grunge and filthy feel of them. I mean, even the Sprawl, supposedly home to thousands and built specifically as a residential station, looked more like a high tech prison than a space city. It’s almost not even a surprise when blood gets all over the carpets; living there, one might even come to expect it. (Sprawl citizen walks out of his apartment. There’s blood on the carpet. Someone is screaming down the hall. He’s pretty sure a hand just flew out of his neighbors half-open door) “Must be a Tuesday”

Do you see Aircraft carriers putting flames and decals on them, even though those are basically floating cities? No.

Architect here Simple answer: Money. Aesthetics are quite expensive. Even paint. I expect ship/station owners wouldn't spend money on something frivolous unless it helps to get a quick return on investment. And Considering that people have been living in ships for centuries by the time of DS1 people would've learnt to like the Industrial theme.

Look at Prey Talos is a fancy station with wood floors and stuff. But it was research based, I imagine if it was a mining station it wouldn’t have been nearly as furnished

After some couple thorough gameplay video watching and wiki reading in dead space 3, I have concluded that The Mule Space Aircraft has 3 engines instead of 2, you see the proof is in the pilots room, there are 3 screens specifically projecting Engine Blades, one on the right, another on the left and another on the center, so in conclusion the engines are located on the wings( two on the main wings and one on the Tail ), so it’s practically the design is similar to that engine layout of the McDonnell Douglas DC-10.

@@phoenixlandsberg9649I doubt that a planetcracker keeps the processed material on bord until the planetslice is gone. Parts the ship processed get most likely transported to other facilities.
@toddkes58903 жыл бұрын
@@TheKingofbrooklin The fun part is figuring out how big that planet slice is, as it is nowhere small enough to be handled like the sphere that was used for processing (Chapter 7: Into the Void). That should not have been a sphere, instead it should have been a cylinder on the outside, and a cone on the inside, where inside the ship you have 'equipment' shaving pieces off the cone for processing. Think of it like a pencil sharpener, where the pencil stays still and the sharpener moves around it. As to the Ishimura itself, how much mass would a planet slice have (I have seen ranges from 525 trillion kilograms to 525 trillion kilotons)? If a planet crack is supposed to take 3-5 years, how much material would the Ishimura have to process per hour in order to just handle the crust of Earth (about 2*10^19 tons) in 10 years? What would be better is the Ishimura pulling up chunks of the planet that are rich in selected ores and only processing those pieces, instead of trying to process the entire crust. Even then, the Ishimura would only process the most profitable pieces and discard the rest either into orbit, or back onto the planet

Since I enjoy the videos this gentleman puts out, I can't for the life of me get into a disliker's head. I mean you have to have a fairly close relationship with the franchise to want to know every piece of minutia about it, to begin with, I would think. Frankly I can't get enough. And it's sad, but over the last 5 years or so I've learned sometimes people like to be douche bags just for the hell of it.

I will oftentimes equate Event Horizon as a lesser Dead Space, they both have that feel and storyline: deep space mission goes wrong, massive ship turns feral with alien entities that could crawl right into your head, and make you see what you kinda want to see. Even though it's death in it's most visceral forms. I'm looking forward to see how they do with it as the series is coming up. I've already seen bits and pieces of the game from the devs and it looks SHARP. Really Freakin' Sharp. Fascinating videos, even learned a thing or two and I thank you for sharing.

I think the planet cracking has also severe political elements within it whereas the operations are not have to gave more autonomy towards to colonies and thus avoiding further accidents such as Martian Independence Riots to occur
