In this week's episode, I document a handful of great white sharks near a dead whale carcass that washed up on shore. One white shark, I estimated at at least 16 feet long. The largest I've filmed close to shore in California. Stay to the end of the video to see the largest gathering of leopard sharks I've yet to witness.

The gospel (good news) for lost souls: Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven, there is no other way! You only have to believe in what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross at Calvary, He died for the sins of the whole world and that's including you, so why not live for Him? It's all about Jesus Christ's precious blood - Romans 3:25 - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, saves lost souls when you truly believe from your heart. Jesus Christ paid the death penalty in our stead and nailed it to the cross. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 1:13, saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Heaven and Hell are real, literal places, there is nothing in-between. Choose your eternal destination wisely for your soul. Absolutely stunning drone footage! I agree with your estimate of the first large shark being 16 ft+. I say this because of the visible thickness of the base of the tail. Very interesting and no surprise that he (or she) would show up there because their sense of smell is so fine-tuned, and whale meat has a very strong odor. It's also one of their most nutritious and easy meals. The image you captured of the white shark literally disappearing in the depths like Houdini is one of the best I've seen. This footage is National Geographic quality. You're good!

Thank you for eye (and mind) opening footage. They are not the monsters that Hollywood would have us think they are. More like brothers and sisters just trying to live.

Te once great kelp beds are gone for now. It'll take another twenty years to reestablish the help like it was before the collapse. I hate purple sea urchins now that I know how much damage they can do. I personally miss the beds so thick it was a feat fishing from the rocks. The fish disappeared along with kelp. The dieoff was so intense that the barnacles started dying off, their shells dissolved it seemed. A dark future is like that. I'm afraid to go back. Stillwater park is what I'm most familiar. Been going there since I was a small child back in the fifties.

There are way more sharks than we need to be warned about, though. It would be cool as far as data collection about sharks goes, but warning the public about every shark would do nothing but worry everyone for no reason. They're like bees - if you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone.

@@CoriMultipass i think you're spot on. Until recently (with drone footage thanks to this channel) we never had a complete picture or understanding of how our beaches looked. Obviously sharks have been present this entire time. Great whites, hammerheads, tigers, bulls.. and dolphins, whales, rays etc have always been in close proximity to swimmers. We cant even see a few feet ahead of us when we are floating and swimming and playing about in the water. little did we know that a few yards away a great white is coasting the area. so ya i agree. if we were to raise the flag for every shark within the vicinity, it'd only spark fear. BUT i still think having a fleet of drones on patrol would serve a purpose. Just as a form of safety. disregard anything to do with sharks or marine life. Think about a swimmer or fisherman or diver who finds themselves in a sticky situation, a birds eye view of the beach would assist in rescue efforts. but lets say a potentially dangerous school of sharks or one massive bad boy great white is cruising the area, it'd be beneficial to everyone if we could all have eyes on it or have some awareness. cheers.

The 16' - 18' GWS at the beginning of the vid has lost the tip of its dorsal fin. Aside from the damage to the dorsal fin, the shark looks unmarred (from an overhead perspective) and does not appear to be tagged. However, the size of that shark along with the missing portion of the dorsal fin may constitute a distinctive profile for identification. Perhaps shark researchers would be interested in your vid and the location as a means to track this particular shark. Great find, Carlos!

If you ever get a chance on the SoCal coast, try to get stuck swimming with a large school of leopard sharks in waist deep water. They stay far enough away that, submerged, you might not even know they're there if not for the constant kicking up of sand in a wall several meters away. I was amongst them for several minutes before I figured it out. I moved in a little more to stand up and see if the sand puffs (not timed right to be from wave action) were from rays or something like that. Looked down and around. Nope. Great job. The first GW shark you filmed (16'-18') "LOOKS" like a shark I've seen on a program last year. "Flat top" is a shark that had a previous injury in which the point of the dorsal fin had been cut off. It only stood out due to it's size. It really is sad to see all the damage that long lines and drift nets cause. I'm only relieved that we don't see the damage and/or results of the poachers that take only the shark fins murdering what's left. Nothing will change until we start pressuring that "nation" instead of continuing to grant it (as far as environmentally speaking) it's 3rd world status. From shark fin soup, to "dog fair" celebrations, to open and continued mass air pollution without restriction, china continues to give the rest of the developed world the middle finger, and laughing at us all the way to the bank. We are far from perfect, but we are trying to make a change.

This youtube account is a gem!! I love watching sharks and other marine animals. Learning more about marine life makes us understand one more time that we humans share this planet with other many creatures. Being intelligent doesn't make us the "main characters" on Earth

That large shark appeared to be missing the top of his dorsal fin. Maybe that can help you identify him/her through your shark scientist contacts or from future flights? I assume that scientists use distinctive marks like that in a similar way to photographing flukes of whales for identification catalogs. I'm sure someone would love to know he was near the coast on that day and time.

There's real synergy about the content you create. Like sharks, drones are also unfairly vilified by the media based on one or two incidents carried out by bad actors. The rules that the FAA are trying to impose on drones are frankly ridiculous and actually put drone pilots in danger. Hopefully content like this goes a long way to showing people drones are not something to be concerned about.

It's weird how much slower, and less violent marine life is compared to land life. Like you could never get close to a wild lion, but you could totally get close to a shark.
@JaayyMan
@JaayyMan 2 жыл бұрын
The reason for that is not because sharks are less dangerous. They're simply fearless plus dont have limbs and cant express themselves through noise (which gives them a calm presence) opposed to nearly all species of cats are cautious and will fake you out by growling hissing or charging when scared. With a shark theres none of those warnings it's 0-100 in less than a second. One moment you're like "awww nice sharky" Next moment "oh im gonna die"

They don’t do that. I spent years living in Port Hueneme and Ventura, boating on the Channel and spending time around the Islands. I was a carpenter working on a hotel on the beach in Oxnard when a dead grey whale washed ashore. They leave them there until the sea reclaims them, and I can tell you, when you are downwind of a rotting whale… it’s gaggingly nasty!
