Grabbed up an adapter from Hansohn brothers the first day it posted on their website. Would love to see a muzzle brake specifically meant for use with the nomad Ti. A kind of sacrificial baffle to aid in preserving the titanium and redirecting the gas in a uniform nature in the suppressor's blast chamber. You mentioned it, but also a minimalist brake for a low profile/weight option would be nice. Thanks for continuing to be leaders in innovation in the market.

As much a fan as I am of the YHM QD mount...this Xeno system especially with the omnidirectional muzzle brake that maximizes internal can volume, sits very low in the can, helps preserve blast baffles, and doesn't need timing with shims...is gonna take the cake!

Just got my Xeno mount and flash hider today (for my Nomad-L on a .300 BLK host). Love it and I'm glad I chose this over the YHM Kurz kit. I thought I might want a shorter muzzle device--and maybe y'all are working on that--but it's less of an issue than I initially made it out to be in my head.

How do you like the Nomad L? I’m gonna start saving for my second can and that seems to be the ticket
@skennedy12173 жыл бұрын
@@chupacabra304 It's my first can and I bought it for a .300 BLK pistol. For that it's perfect. It's a little long and heavy on my other rifles, although for bench or bipod shooting it'd be perfect. Had the Nomad-LT been out at the time, I might have gone with the titanium model. I just bought a YHM N20 for more of an all-around, light-weight, silencer that I can move between multiple hosts. That said, I foresee a dedicated 5.56 can and a .22 LR can in my future, too. Once you start shooting with these you'll wonder why you waited so long!

How is the xeno mount holding up? Would you recommend it on a home defense setup?
@skennedy12172 жыл бұрын
@@adammathers4879 It's been working well for me so far...no issues. I have been moving the Nomad L to various hosts (have Xeno mounts on 5 or 6 set-ups). I like the simplicity, weight, and repeatable accuracy. As for home defense, I think it would depend on if you want to leave it on, or attach it when you need it. QD might be better for the latter, but anything you do under stress can be more complicated than it seems. Hope that helps.

Shout out to the engineers. Just installed my xeno stuff with a Huxwrx Ventum 556. Super smooth, super easy.
@brandontigrett837029 күн бұрын
Any issues with it coming unseated? Isn't a feature of the Huxwrx stuff that it is designed to tighten as you shoot. Would the left hand threading of the xeno counteract that? I'm looking at doing the same setup and haven't found an answer.
@samrapaport375729 күн бұрын
@@brandontigrett8370 I thought the same thing but it definitely walks off. I think the "tighten as you shoot feature" might be unique to the proprietary Hux devices. I keep a multi tool on my belt and give it a crank every few mags - not ideal but seems common across suppressors from what I've read. One other issue with the Huxwrx Ventum itself I'll mention: after just 600 rounds on an 11.5" barrel I had a piece of the blast baffle break off. Didn't notice until I took the can off and a couple little fragments fell out. Hux had me send it in and it sounds like they're going to replace the core. But just FYI this is becoming a common issue. Hopefully they continue to take care of customers and get enough data to improve the design. Suppressors are consumables but 600 rounds is ridiculous.

This may be a stupid question.... Does the Flash hider need to be shimmed for proper bore alignment or will a crush washer work fine?
@Argentum77562 жыл бұрын
Never use a crush washer for a suppressor mount. Crush washers will not necessarily "crush" down perfectly flat square against the face of the shoulder of the barrel. That can cause wild concentricity issues and may induce baffle strikes. Always use flat shims for timing suppressor mounts. Also this particular flash hider is omnidirectional so it doesn't need to be timed at all.

@TroyPosey4 жыл бұрын
I have a Springfield Saint Victor 5.56 with the 7.5" barrel, and the 8.5" handguard (factory comp installed) and the 1.3" I.D. handguard... He mentioned the 1-1/8" socket, so obviously it will fit inside of that factory handguard... My question is, what is the distance from the back of the adapter (where it butts-up to the barrel thread tenon) to where it touches the Nomad can itself? I need roughly 1.25" of extension for that suppressor to NOT interfere with the factory handguard. Will this Xeno setup allow that much distance from the back of the mount to where it mounts to the Nomad? If this will give me the distance I need to achieve running my Nomad-LT on my Saint (when my stamp comes back), then I'm ready to order a Xeno for that one gun, right now. If not, is there any way I can pay money to have a custom (extended length) Keymount brake or flash hider made to fit this setup, so I can use my KeyMo for it? There's a lot of these guns on the market, and we all have this issue, and some of us don't want to swap the stock handguard for an aftermarket one when a simple extended mount could be an easy install and solution. If this is possible, please let me know. I'd be more than happy to be a test mule for one, and will pay for the mount. Thanks for all the help!
@TroyPosey4 жыл бұрын
@Eric M It's not under... It won't fit under the handguard. I was wanting to know if they would be willing to look into making an extended KeyMount brake/flash hider for folks who have Springfield Saint pistols, since there are TONS of them out there. It would open up a new market opportunity, and allow Dead Air to corner it early, being the innovators of it. The only part of the redesign required to make a KeyMount fit a Springfield Saint Victor with it's current 8.5" handguard with a 7.5" barrel, is to add 1" distance between the threads and the back of the rearward locking lug on the mount. That's it. Simple as that. I've done the measurements and the hard part for them. It's as simple as adding an extra inch between the threads and the lug.
@TroyPosey4 жыл бұрын
@Eric M I don't like adapters, as that allows more room for shit to go wrong... Like things loosening up, etc... BUT, at the very minimum a 1/2x28 1" diameter extended direct-thread mount for the 1.375x24 Nomad cans would be acceptable...And probably much cheaper, and easier to make.

@Eric M I just emailed TROS up in Oregon... We'll see what they say. 👍🏼
@TroyPosey4 жыл бұрын
@Eric M Yeah, I’m just trying to avoid that...I like the factory handguard length. Plus, it would open up the market to a lot of new potential purchasers, who might not be as savvy with guns, but still want a quick and easy way to suppress their Saint Victor, without having to disassemble 85% of the upper. Some folks don’t have all those tools. I’ve built a ton of AR’s, so I have all the proper tools, but part of this idea, is also trying to look out for those who don’t, but can easily turn a wrench. 👍🏼
@TroyPosey4 жыл бұрын
I ended up contacting TROS, but they wouldn’t even begin to touch it. Guy was honestly kind of an ass about it, but whatever. His loss. I did find someone who will make them in the near future, maybe more than just mine, don’t know. Have to see how mine goes. Might become a stocking item for them... We’ll have to see. I can’t disclose who it is that will be making them right now, but will post up in the future when I can. Just know, it’s a VERY reputable company that makes custom mounts like this all day everyday. So it will be extremely high-quality. 👍🏼

The KeyMo is welded into the sandman so it holds up better to hard use, comes with the break because you can't use that can without a compatible muzzle device. Wolfman and nomad don't come with it so you can use whatever industry standard system you want.

@@springjesse it’s just wild to me because you’re getting an additional 300+ dollars worth of add ons with the sandman, yet the wolfman costs near the same and you get one lousy direct thread mount. @@mr.excitement689 well for one thing, Wolfman is designed as a PCC can, and won't fit the KeyMo anyway. @@springjesse then I feel like they should market it as a 9mm can.
