You know, I'm curious if this special helped influence Kiryu from the Millennium series. Think about it. Kiryu is a new incarnation of Mechagodzilla built around the bones of the original Godzilla. CyberZilla is a similar case, this version being the corpse of the 1998 Zilla with cybernetic enhancements covering its body, turning it into a half mechanical/half organic kaiju.

@@zombielizard2870 Showa MechaGodzilla(2nd appearance) had to use a Human brain to control things properly. So even Showa had some level of cybernetics. Oh and Heisei Mecha-Godzilla is made using parts of the future-tech cybernetics from Mecha-Ghidorah! Yeah, AFAIK Mecha-Godzilla didn't have any organic parts in Heisei, but it's still connected to an organic being.

This is the only version of godzilla that scared me as a kid. The zombie like roar it makes and how it is basically a zombie scared me. The only other one that even registered close to it is the godzilla pre nuke in minus one.

This series and this film are not related to the Japanese film series and there is no other Godzilla and the creature you see on the screen is the real Godzilla in this universe. The creature from the 1998 movie is still officially Godzilla, Zilla is actually just Tristar Godzilla's doppelganger created by Toho and is a separate monster from it.
